Iverson Update

A.i. has left the Building

Recently A.I. Posted an Open Letter to all of his Myspace Friends I thought i would post it in its entirety:

An Open Letter....

The Christmas holiday season is a time for bein joyful & thankful. It is also time to appreciate those that you love & who love you back... My fans have always had my back & I need that right now.
With that being said I wanted to pen this open letter to my true fans. I want you to know that I love this game, & I love suitin up and gettin on the court playing 82 regular season games with all my heart to give the fans what they want and more. I only wish I was only able to give you more post-season victories.
To my Philadelphia family, I say thank you for 11 wonderful years together. I pray God's best for our future.

While people all over the world are making Santa Claus wishes and requests, all I want for Christmas is the opportunity to contend for a World Championship!!! For me, that didnt necessarily mean leavin my home. The city of Philadelphia will always be a part of me because I love this city & its people so much.

However, im humble enough to admit that if I am the change that is needed, im willin to accept that. Those that truly know me, know my desire to win, & know that I only want whats best for everyone. Im gonna cherish the memories of the nearly 700 games I played for the Philadelphia 76ers forever.

Throughout my career, ive played through injury and illness. I love bein out on the court, competin and winnin. Thats why it was so disheartening to be told that I couldnt play, knowin that I was ready. It hurt even more to be told not to come at all.

Nevertheless, please know that every second of the 29,082 minutes I played in a Sixer uniform were an honor & privilege I will never forget.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
A.I.
