Dec. 11, a federal judge granted a motion to add Rocawear, Roc Apparel Group LLC, Urban Menswear LLC and Rocawear Licensing LLC to the lawsuit, which seeks an injunction to prevent Jay-Z from using the symbol, as well as an unspecified amount of monetary damages.
Page decided to add Rocawear to the existing lawsuit, after he learned Jay-Z recently used the hand gesture to market and promote the Rocawear clothing line.
"Many athletes and celebrities also flashed the Diamond Cutter sports celebration move," states the lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Federal Court. "In Game 6 of the 1998 NBA finals against the Chicago Bulls, Karl Malone, the Utah Jazz star basketball player, flashed the Diamond Cutter Trademark during the game and referred to the symbol as Plaintiff's hand sign. Similarly, former professional football player and Dallas Cowboy star running back, Herschel Walker used the Diamond Cutter Trademark after a 64 yard touchdown run and also acknowledged that it was Plaintiff's signature trademark."
Page, who is shooting the movie Gallow Walker in South Africa with Wesley Snipes, says that he used the symbol to promote his DDP character while working for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as early as 1996.
The wrestler used the hand gesture just before executing his signature finishing move in the ring, the "Diamond Cutter."
Due to the popularity of the hand gesture, Page used it in other business endeavors including a pair of inspirational products including the Yoga For Regular Guys DVD series and book, and an upcoming audio book titled Own Your Life.
B.G. Introduces Chopper City Boyz' Debut

New Orleans native B.G. will introduce The Chopper City Boyz' debut album We Got This on his Chopper City Records imprint this February.
B.G. has helped The Chopper City Boyz (Sniper, Hakim aka Hakizzle, VL Mike and Gar) develop a following by featuring the group on four of his last studio albums that were released through his Chopper City imprint, which is marketed and distributed by KOCH Records.
"After being in the game for 12 years, I'm introducing my new group," B.G. said in a statement. "The Chopper City Boyz are the next step in the Chopper City movement. Since the breakup of my super group, The Hot Boyz, there's been a lack of talented real Hip-Hop groups from the South. The Chopper City Boyz are gonna change all that."
The first single from the album is "Make Em Mad," which features The Chopper City Boyz and B.G. The single was produced by Mississippi producer and rapper, David Banner.
"I'm the s**t on the boards and this is the first part of my take over [on production]," David Banner told AHH of the single. "I'm sick of playing!"
As a member of Cash Money Records' group The Hot Boyz, B.G. helped usher in a new Southern sound in Hip-Hop along with former group members Lil' Wayne, Juvenile and Turk, who is serving 10 years behind bars for weapons charges stemming from a Jan. 2004 shootout with Memphis SWAT Team members.
During his stint as a member of The Hot Boyz, B.G. was featured on critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums like Get It How U Live (1997), Guerrilla Warfare (1999) and Let 'Em Burn (2003).
As a solo artist, B.G. had a massive hit with the single "Bling Bling," which was taken from his 1997 album Chopper City in the Ghetto. The term, which is slang for expensive jewelry, eventually made its way into the Oxford English Dictionary and Websters dictionary.

Lupe Fiasco Speaks On Next Album

Lupe Fiasco can get rappers as guests on tracks anyday. So, Fiasco has decided to challenge himself. Reports indicate that the Chi-Town MC will try his hand at getting Pink Floyd to appear on his next LP.
"I got my wish list on my last album so I made this one unattainable," he recently told Billboard of his first LP, which featured guests such as Jay-Z, Jill Scott, Pharrell Williams and more. "Now I want to work with Pink Floyd, or the remnants of Pink Floyd," he added.
While Lupe knows this is sure to be a difficult task, he's also confident that it could work. After all, this isn't the first time he's had to face this type of situation.
"'American Terrorist' wasn't going to be on the album, because we heard Chick Corea doesn't like hip-hop," Fiasco explained. "But we went the extra mile to make sure he heard the rest of the record and could see that there was no cursing, and that there was positivity. We were taking extra care with his work and not putting any garbage out there. It's that same approach with Floyd. I'm really serious!"
Fiasco's next LP, tentatively titled The Cool is sure to have some "intensity."
"Lyrically, it's going to be intense, but nothing is recorded as of yet."
Dame Dash Says He Doesn't Have Beef With Jay-Z Despite Alleged Dis

Damon Dash hasn't spoken to former best friend Jay-Z in a while, but he's definitely been listening to Jay's music. Dash says he doesn't know for sure but hopes the new Jigga track "Lost ones" isnt about their relationship.
While Jay hasn't verified that the first verse in the song is about Dame Dash, it's largely perceived that Hov is talking about the Roc-A-Fella breakup .
He raps: "I heard muthaf---ers saying they made Hov/ Made Hov say, 'OK, so make another Hov'/ N---as wasn't playing they day role/ So we parted ways like Ben and J. Lo."
On Friday evening at the offices of Damon Dash Enterprises, the Harlem native spoke out publicly for the first time about the song. Dash said he too thought the lyrics were about himself and Kareem "Biggs" Burke, who used to be the other third of the Roc-A-Fella brass."Me and Jay did too much together for me to have beef with him," Dash said. "If he was talking about me, I would be disappointed. I wish he would take me aside and tell me. That's what grown men do.
We done so much, for me to have beef with him would be crazy. It would make everything I did look corny. ... Guys like us don't talk about other guys on a track. We pull each other to the side and speak."I was just a little disappointed," Dame continued. "I don't feel nothing against him. I think it was a bad decision on his part. I would never air my laundry like that. It damages the history that we made. I got nothing bad to say about that man, just that scenario.
Could you imagine 10 years ago that Jay would be making a record about Dame Dash? I used to eat at his house for Thanksgiving. I know his mother, his whole family. I got no beef. We made way too much money together. I almost felt sorry for him. It's like he made an excuse for what he did. We used to have a lot of fun. The absence of Dame Dash is critical."
In last month's issue of XXL Magazine, Jay addressed the split by saying, "At the end of the day, when I look around and I know I'm on the side of right or what I believe is right in my heart ... sometimes you think you're doing right but you're not. But what you believe to be right in your heart, that's your truths. Then certain things happen that go even further then that, and you know you was right. The way people carry themselves after, it's like, 'Wow.' I wouldn't have did that. [He laughs.] A true friend wouldn't have done that."Dame also described the Roc-A-Fella breakup as being more personal than the loss of a partner."Well," he said, gathering his thoughts, "I looked at it as more like a loss of a friend. I didn't really care about the business. What we sold was our friendship. ... Again, it's a different age, we grew apart.
"Dash says he's grown apart from music as well and that he hasn't come across any new talent to make him want to jump back in the business. He recently started an urban-networking Web site called BlockSavvy.com and of course is still focusing on movies and his number one hustle these days: fashion."I don't wanna be yelling all my life," he began to laugh. "How loud did I have to yell to say that Jay-Z was the man and the best rapper of all time? Nobody believed me until it happened 10 years later. You saw what happened when I brought Kanye over. ... I love music, but the people in the music don't wanna work. I know this. I'm in the fashion industry. I haven't had to shout for two years."

PRINCE BOOKED FOR SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW

His wardrobe malfunctions have been famously intentional…(remember the buttless pants)…however, organizers of Super Bowl XLI in Miami have booked veteran musician Prince as the star headliner for its halftime show at Miami’s Dolphin Stadium.
His Royal Badness will take the stage on Feb. 4, midway through the NFL’s annual championship game between leaders of the NFC and AFC divisions.
The halftime show has been under a spotlight ever since Janet Jackson’s breast was exposed during her performance in 2004. The brief flash led CBS to be fined by the FCC, and prompted a crackdown on indecency. The Rolling Stones were bleeped several times during their halftime performance this year in Detroit.
Prince’s Super Bowl gig was announced on the CBS sports show "NFL Today," three days after he received five nominations for the Grammy Awards.
