50 Cent is hooking up with Richard Greene, the author of my favorite books of all time, The 48 laws of war, The Art of Seduction, and The 33 Strategies of War, to write 50 Laws of Power, a hood version of The 48 Laws of Power. 50 is also releasing a brand of condoms and donating the proceeds to an as of yet unnamed HIV awareness program.
I'm interested in the book, just to read it and see what they can concoct together, but as far as the condoms, i don't think i can deal with G-unit rubbers.

SAMUEL L. JACKSON TO PLAY JAMES BROWN?.jpg)
Samuel L. Jackson is being tipped to play James Brown in a movie of the late soul legend's life.
The film was already in the early planning stages before Brown died of pneumonia on Christmas Day (25.12.06). He was 73.
Rumours are now rife that the film's director Spike Lee, whose past work includes 'Clockers' and 'Malcolm X', wants Jackson to play the part.
A source is quoted by Britain's Daily Express newspaper as saying: "The film of Brown's life had actually been planned for some time prior to his death. Filming is now expected to begin in 2008 and it's understood that Jackson is in pole position to land the role."
The as yet untitled movie will focus on all aspects of Brown's remarkable life, including his phenomenal music, his prominent role in the American civil rights movement and his turbulent private life.
A few Chicago hoodlums popped up on YouTube earlier this week, claiming they jacked Young Buck's chain when he visited the Chi."It's Young Buck's chain. We robbed his ass. We took his bitch ass chain. We took him down," the alleged robber (who looks like GLC) boasted while holding a "YB" pendent. "You want your shit back, Buck? Come up with some money!" Yet to keep it funky, the chain doesn't really look like anything Buck has rocked or anything he would sport. view the video here

Police sources tell the Web site that a woman claiming to be his live-in girlfriend said she was struck after the two began arguing around 5:30 a.m. at their Los Angeles home.
Paramedics were called to the residence after Tyrese allegedly punched the woman, who is three months pregnant, in the arm and thigh, then drove away from the scene.

X (born Earl Simmons) was arrested for driving at unreasonable speeds, making unsafe lane changes and driving without a license on June 2, 2006. The Yonkers, NY rapper faced City Court Judge Barbara Leak yesterday (January 4), confirming that he refused a plea bargain offered by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office last year and assured her that he would be in court for a pretrial hearing on March 6.
"You have to be here," Leak told X during the hearing.
X had a more than a few brushes with the law in 2006. He was ticketed for causing a car accident, was cited for carrying a concealed handgun outside a nightclub in Scottsdale, AZ and missed a court date-prompting a warrant to be issued for his arrest.
"I just want to get this over with as soon as possible," X told the Journal News. "I'm sure I'm the only individual with $25,000 bail on traffic violations."
If convicted X could will serve at most a year in prison and receive a $1000 fine.
Regardless of the date, a Smith presidential campaign apparently isn't that far fetched. The rapper tuned actor recently revealed that he honestly believed he could become the United States' first Black president. "A few years ago I said I honestly believe I could be President of the United States. Now, there were probably political experts that laughed. But put me on a lie detector right now and I positively believe I could be President," Smith told Yahoo News. Well, the establishment does seem to love his big ears.Snoop Dogg Sued Over Reality Series

New York-based Natural Resources Media & Technology Group has filed suit against the rapper's Snoop Youth Football League Foundation, alleging the foundation made a deal for a reality television series chronicling Snoop's involvement in the league in violation of a pre-existing deal with 20th Century Fox to develop a similar feature film.According to the complaint, filed last week in New York Supreme Court, the June deal purportedly gave Natural Resources exclusive pay-per-view, cable, home video and other video footage rights for the league in exchange for raising and providing more than $100,000 for the production and splitting revenue with the foundation. But when Fox got wind of the planned production, its sent a letter to the parties involved -- which include Maryland-based production company TV One, Beverly Hills- based Strange Fruit Film and TV, and Jacksonville, Fla.-based Axcess Sports & Entertainment -- informing them of Fox's "exclusive rights to portray Snoop in any motion picture or television project or other production based on Snoop's involvement with his sons' football teams and leagues."
Fox is currently developing a feature entitled "Coach Snoop" with screenwriters Mark Gibson and Philip Halprin. "Fox already has made a huge investment in our project and if you continue to move forward with your television project in violation of Fox's rights, it will severely impact the viability of our theatrical motion picture," Michael Ross, Fox's senior vp legal affairs, wrote in a letter dated October 13.
Natural Resources alleges production on the show, which was to feature the on- and off-the-field activities of Snoop and his 9- to 12-year-old players leading up to the "Snooperbowl," a championship game planned to coincide with Super Bowl XLI, was halted immediately and the "parties with whom plaintiff had contracted for the recording and broadcasting of the event withdrew from their agreements and ceased recording the events," according to the complaint.Natural Resources, run by Corey Simmons, alleges it informed Snoop after receiving Fox's letter that he was in breach of the contract by failing to own the rights the foundation had licensed. "They did not respond to our request that they cure the breach," said the plaintiff's attorney, Rochester, N.Y.-based sole practitioner Bradley Rosen. Fox is not named as a defendant. The rapper's attorney on the case, Donald Etra, did not respond to requests for comment. The complaint alleges a single cause of action for breach of contract and seeks $250,000 in damages plus attorney's fees.
Styles P Refuses To Press Charges Against Truck Driver
Rapper Styles P is recuperating from an incident during a traffic incident in upstate New York on Dec. 23 and is refusing to press charges against the driver of a truck that rammed the rapper, breaking his leg.
Styles P., born David Styles, was driving his 2003 Mercedez-Benz on Saw Mill River Road in upstate New York, when he was cut off by 50-year-old John Henson, of Connecticut.
The rapper exited his vehicle and threw napkins at Henson's truck. When Henson appeared in Town Court on Tuesdsay (Jan. 2), he explained that the entire ordeal was an accident.
"I didn't know if he had a gun or something else he was going to throw at me," Henson said, adding that he feared for his safety and was "all shook up" as he attempted to drive away.
Henson, who has five children, was charged with second-degree assault. He spent Christmas day in jail and was released when he posted $1500 bail.
He said he was suspended from his trucking job over the incident and is currently falling behind on his mortgage.
Sources stated that certain officials in the City of Greenburgh are appalled that the rapper is refusing to press charges against Henson's intentional act of violence.
Henson's next court date was slated for Jan. 26.
Styles P. was forced to cancel a series of scheduled concerts to promote his critically acclaimed album, Time Is Money, which hit stores Dec. 19. The rapper's concert dates will be filled by fellow Lox members Sheek Louch and Jadakiss.

Jay-Z Moves On Up, NY Condo Up For Sale
The $40,000-a-month New York condominium that rap mogul Jay-Z has been renting since September 2005 is currently under contract to be sold.
According to the New York Post, the 4,800-square-foot Time Warner Center luxury condo where the Brooklyn-born rapper resides is listed as under contract through the Corcoran Group real estate firm and expected to sell for $27 million.
The 76th floor pad features four bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, twelve foot ceilings, a library, formal dinging room and one of a limited number of private terraces in the structure. Jigga's soon to be former digs also conveniently offers a view of Beyonce's nearby crib, across the park at One Beacon Court.
In 2004, Hov purchased a $6.85 million Tribeca penthouse on Hudson Street, however the "best rapper alive" has been shelling out dough for his five figure Time Warner Center rental while his own home is being renovated.
Jay-Z's landlord, owner Michael Hirtenstein, is currently traveling in Europe and was unable to offer his comments on the sale. Hirtenstein, a major telecom executive, purchased the high-end property for $15.7 million in December of 2004; when in New York he resides in a spread nearby at the Park Imperial - just floors above another big name in hip-hop -- Sean "Diddy" Combs.
There's no word yet on where "home sweet home" will be for Hov once the sale goes through.

Gospel singer in unlikely pairing with Jay-Z
It was after church on a Sunday, and Chrisette Michele had God and hip-hop on her mind.
The 23-year-old Long Islander was on her way to a studio to write and record the hook for "Lost One," the first single off Jay-Z's recent No. 1 album "Kingdom Come." She hadn't heard the rest of the song yet, but the deacon's daughter wondered if it might be too explicit for her strong moral code.
"I was preparing in my head how I would say, 'I'm sorry, I can't do this,"' says the singer-songwriter of her meeting with the hip-hop mogul.
But after Jay-Z played the track, which deals with commitment, friendship and death, "I looked at him and said, 'Yo, this song is spiritual.' This song is about self-respect." Chrisette pauses for a moment. "He's a preacher."
That's quite a statement for someone with a family full of clergy, who led the gospel choir in high school and college but never got a CD until she was 17.
She also has a neverending stream of songs in her head that she attributes at least in part to attention-deficit disorder, a condition that she calls "a gift."
But it wasn't until the day a high school track coach stopped her in the hallway Chrisette had been jogging down the corridor singing that her artistic fate was sealed. The coach gave her a CD of Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz' "The Girl from Ipanema," a song that would establish her love for mixing jazz melodies with what she grew up with: gospel vocals and hip-hop beats.
"I went up to my jazz teacher in school, and said, 'I need you to give me some more of that,"' she says, recalling the discovery of a cabinet full of classic jazz music. "Every day after that, at lunch period, I would go into the piano room and practice those songs."
With Nat "King" Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday as newfound heroes, Chrisette went on to major in music at 5 Towns College. A show at New York City's Village Underground led to opening gigs for India. Arie, and eventually a contract with Island Def Jam (Jay-Z is president and CEO of its Def Jam Recordings unit). "Lost One," her collaboration with Jay-Z, has been climbing Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop songs and Hot 100 charts, where it now stands at No. 19 and No. 60, respectively.
Chrisette, who is finishing up her own album on Island Def Jam, was featured on the Heineken Red Star Soul tour this fall and performed onstage with Jay-Z at his Radio City concert.
She also wrote and sang hooks on Nas' album "Hip-Hop Is Dead," including on single "Can't Forget About You," a nostalgic reminiscence that's bubbling under the R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart.
Being on Nas' album had particular significance for Chrisette, whose mother was raised in the same Queensbridge housing project as the rapper.
Childhood memories of her own, particularly of the homeless women and girls her family took into their home, inspired her own album. Themes include self-esteem, commitment, and abstinence.
"I don't want to come off preachy, but I'm not afraid to be a Christian in this industry and to really believe what I believe in," says Chrisette, a stance made easier to take with respectful and respected artists like Nas and Jay-Z behind her.
"He curses," she says of the latter, smiling audibly. "He didn't say the curses when I was in the room, but he curses. But that's okay."

Fresh off his arrival from a goodwill trip to Angola, Busta Rhymes turned himself in to New York City authorities to face assault charges last night (January 3).As previously reported, police sought Busta (born Trevor Smith) earlier this week following allegations brought by a driver employed by the rapper. 39-year-old Eddie Hatchett filed a police complaint claiming that he was attacked by Busta at his lower Manhattan office building on December 26, after Hatchett approached him about money he says he was owed. According to Associated Press reports, the driver was treated at a hospital after allegedly being punched in the face and kicked by the rapper.
Rhymes was in Angola when the charges were levied, but the AP has reported that since returning to New York, Rhymes has turned himself in at a Manhattan police station and been booked for a misdemeanor assault charge. Lt. John Grimpel told AP reporters that Rhymes was scheduled to be taken to court today (January 4).
In related news, according to the Angola Press, Rhymes was in Luanda, Angola earlier this week at the invitation of the Casa Blanca show promotions company along with singer Akon. In addition to performing, the entertainers visited a children's shelter Tuesday, donating used clothes and $15,000.

"She styles some of Hollywood's elite stars because of her ability to create amazingly smart fashion pairings. It is a partnership that I believe will lead this brand into the future."FINALLY He's G-Unit???
I doubt that anyone in cares but word is Shade45 has announced that Ma$e has officially left Bad Boy. Diddy got what he wanted out of Ma$e and just released him...according to Shade 45. 50 might finally bring Ma$e over to G-Unit like he wanted. Pharoahe Monch Draws His Guns

Pharoahe Monch told fans today on his website, gundraws.com, that with his new video Gun Draws he wants to educate.
"We have undoubtedly become desensitized to death thru senseless violence, whether perpetrated by or committed against us. This is my effort to help awaken the unconscious and nourish the youth."
Monch is working with the group, Guns for Cameras, which aims to take the guns out of childrens' hands and replace the guns with video cameras for them to document their lives.
In a recent interview with Hip Hop Connection, Monch said of the song and video, "I've seen people get shot in the head, that was sitting, like, two people away from me. I've grew up in the hood, so I have the liberty to write about those visuals that I've seen: people with holes in their head, and going to funerals of people with holes in their head, and family members and friends of mine?"
When asked why he decided to make a song reminiscent of the Organized Konfusion song, Stray Bullet, he said, "That was just beat-driven. I didn't have any intention of doing it at first. Denaun (Porter of D12) gave me the beat and he had the chorus on there. I'm sure for him, he saw another vision, but I was like, 'I love this beat, but I can't talk about guns, because that's not me.' I think this shit is hard as fuck, but it's not gun-toting and I haven't shot anybody, and, so?"
He added that guns in the US are ultimately too accessible, saying "Billions of dollars are spent yearly on the manufacturing of weapons, and consequently those weapons need to be sold or paid for by someone. History has shown wars have solved nothing and only caused more war, but it is during war that countries need weapons so sometimes even wars are manufactured. Gun control is more a global issue than a hood issue but let's examine the similarities?"

Omarion Tops The Charts, Nas Holds Down NY, Young Jeezy Steps Up
In this week's Hip-Hop Charts, Omarion tops the charts, Nas holds it down, and Young Jeezy steps up.
Debuting on the Hip-Hop Charts this week at No. 1 is Omarion. The second solo effort from the former B2K member, entitled 21, has finally been released after two hit singles. The summer-time jam "Entourage" and the wintery "Ice Box" has helped Omarion to bag 119,000 copies.
Making a slight shift on the charts is Nas, coming in at No. 4. "Hip-Hop is Dead," Nas' Def Jam debut, is still putting in work as this week's numbers have rounded off at 101,100. It looks like week #2 is bringing Nasir closer to official gold status, with 457,000 units sold thus far.
Catching a come-up this week is Young Jeezy, coming in at No. 5. After an amazing step-up on the charts, compared to his No. 18 position last week, "I Luv It" and the R. Kelly assisted "Go Getta" seems to be ringing in the sales, with 630,200 discs sold in total. The week-in numbers have finished off at 91,800.
Coming in at No. 7 is Eminem and company. This week, the latest effort from Em and his Shady camp has finished at 84,000, bringing the total to 697,300 after 4 weeks going.
Taking the No. 21 seat this week is Jay-Z. The platinum LP is still getting it in, as the total sits tight at 1,206,800. This week, Hova has made off with 60,900 copies.
Tumbling face-flat on the charts is Bow Wow, coming in at No. 23. After last week's entrance at No. 6, sales have numbed to 57,100 in his second week. "Shorty Like Mine," the lead single, seems to be losing its clout, but has still helped to bring The Price of Fame to 319,000 after 2 weeks.
Making a turn-around on the Hip-Hop Charts is Snoop Dogg, coming in at No. 26. After hitting up No. 38 last week, Blue Carpet Treatment has stepped its game up considerably, moving 49,900 units and bringing the total to 636,800 after 6 weeks on the charts.
Trying to bring it back this week is The Game, ranking in at No. 35. After a slight absence in the rap race, it appears as if The Game is all about his business, with 40,400 copies sold this week. It's been 7 weeks, and the Cali rapper is still aiming for platinum status, with 751,700 discs sold to date.
Changing faces, Akon does the game greasy, Justin Timberlake puts in work, Ciara holds on tight, Beyonce is still holding her spot, and Fergie follows close behind. Coming in at No. 2 on the Charts is Akon. After sitting tight at No. 10 last week, Akon has made his way back to the top, bringing in 1,158,000 CDs after 6 weeks. The week-in total reads off at 112,300. Taking the No. 8 seat is JT. His total reads off at 2,377,100, with 82,700 units sold this week. Hitting up No. 9 is Ciara. The ATL R&B singer is still pushing weight for the Evolution, with 79,100 discs sold. The total for her sophomore LP stands tall at 802,400 after 4 weeks on the go. Holding on to the top of musical competition this week is Beyonce, holding down No. 12. The double-platinum effort from the Houston singer is still pushing strong, with 2,010,300 copies sold. This week, "B" has banged it out with 67,000 units moved. Coming in at No. 17 this week is Fergie. Dutchess has managed to hit up 63,000 CDs this week, bringing the total to 1,206,700.
Next week look for Nas and Young Jeezy to compete for top slots.
Ill. Senator Barack Obama is keeping it real… and it may come back to haunt him as he ascends the political ladder.
In a memoir written before his political aspirations began, Obama admits to marijuana use and even labels himself a “junkie.”
"Junkie. Pothead. That's where I'd been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man. . . . I got high [to] push questions of who I was out of my mind," according to a report from The Post. Those words appear in Obama’s “Dreams From My Father”, a piece written in his 30’s.
Obama is now 45-years-old.
In another drug related news bit, Obama has also admitted, via another book to using cocaine at one time.
While many politicians have been hindered by telling too much of the truth, Obama believes that America is ready for a politician who is open and honest.
"I believe what the country is looking for is someone who is open, honest and candid about themselves rather than someone who seems endlessly driven by polls or focus groups," said Robert Gibbs, Obama's spokesman.

Now at first I heard Styles P was dropped from Interscope. That was the main reason for the poor promotion. I believed it becuz if you didn't know fiddy runs Interscope. Chris Brown's dreams of working with his idol, Michael Jackson, may soon be realized as the two are in talks to collaborate on Jackson's forthcoming studio album.
"We got a chance to meet at the World Music Awards and we're talking to his management about when we can set up a date to be working on his album," Brown told Billboard. "It would be an honor and a blessing for me to work with my idol. He's one of the reasons I do my music."
Brown recently performed Jackson's now legendary hit, "Thriller," in tribute to the King of Pop at the 2006 World Music Awards.
Usher, another long-time admirer, may also be added to Jackson's laundry list of potential collaborators which also include Akon and G-Unit affiliate DJ Whoo Kid.
"We actually spoke about doing something, but nothing more than a conversation. It was for his project," Usher told KIIS FM host Ryan Seacrest.
As previously reported, Jackson's as yet untitled set is due out later this year on Two Seas Records and is expected to include production from will.i.am, who incidentally is nominated for a Grammy for producer of the year.

50 vs Lil' Wayne
Well Lil' Wayne and Chamillionaire were the first and only artists who were going to grace a 50 cent album. Now it's just back to the Koopa.
Word is since Young Buck and Lil Wayne are beefing pretty heavy right now Wayne is out. Since all G-Unit soldiers "stick up" for each other, word is Lil Wayne was dropped out of the features line up for 50's next album Before I Self Destruct.

Royce Da 5' 9" Addresses Nas Signing, "For Him To Say I Was Nice Meant A Lot"
Royce da 5'9" recently caught up with SOHH to discuss working with DJ Premier, writing for Diddy and possibly signing with Nas.
After nearly a two-year break, Royce has enlisted DJ Premier to executive produce his next LP. Nottz and Carlos "Six July" Broady are also expected to produce on the CD.
"I'm working with Preme, but he's not doing the whole album," Royce told Reporters. "He's doing like six songs, but he's executive producing the album. He's like hands on with every song that I do. He likes to be there when I cut the vocals and everything. I actually got like about five [records] done with Preme. We'll probably do 10 to 15 records before we pick the best 6."
Besides working his own project, Royce took time to do a little ghost writing last year. While many were reported to have written for Diddy's Press Play album, Royce was quietly credited for penning "Tell Me," Puff's second single featuring Christina Aguilera.
"I didn't go around doing a lot of bragging about it. It was in the early stages of me working with Puff and I was still building a relationship. The last thing I wanna do is run out and say, 'oh, I wrote this for Diddy.' I just didn't wanna say too much," Royce explained. "I was proud of myself for being in that position, for working with a dude of that caliber, but I also wanted to keep it real respectful. I just ran a real tight ship with working with him just to give him my respect. So I didn't do a lot of publicizing."
Diddy not only recognized Royce's pen, the mogul also expressed interest in signing the lyricist to Bad Boy. Recently, reports also began spreading that Nas was interested in inking Royce to his Jones Experience imprint. Royce's camp is hopeful that the two parties could meet soon and possibly involve God's Son in the ongoing project.
"I'm an emcee and I'm a fan first before anything. When I heard that there was an interest and he [Nas] thought I was nice ...you know that affected me moreso than him saying he wanna sign me," Royce offered. "People say they wanna sign me all the time. But for him to say I was nice. That shit meant a lot to me."
Royce was sentenced to one year in prison for reportedly violating back in September. Though rumors say he's been released from the Oakland County Jail in Detroit, sources from Royce's camp denied the rumors.
Cassie Lets Dipset Get It?
Cassie is admitting to ho'ing it up? Rumors are flying around that recently she has told people close to her that she apologizes for having sex with Cam'Ron and Jim Jones while intoxicated. Rumors flew last month about the Dipset crew running through this chick a few times under the disguise that she's just "really good friends" with Cam and Jimmy. The whole story sounds suspect to me--but I wouldn't be surprised if true. She got to stay in the game some kind of way. And talent is not what's going to keep her here.
Speaking of Jimmy and Cam--I hear they are in the works of remaking Hov and Nas' "Black Republicans" track.
