Nas To Release New Album Entitled "N*gger" December 11 "If Cornell West was making an album called Nigger, they would know he's got something intellectual to say," Nas continued. "To think I'm gonna say something that's not intellectual is calling me a nigger, and to be called a nigger by Jesse Jackson and the NAACP is counterproductive, counter-revolutionary." "I wanna make the word easy on mutha----as' ears," he explained. "You see how white boys ain't mad at 'cracker' 'cause it don't have the same [sting] as 'nigger'? I want 'nigger' to have less meaning [than] 'cracker.' With all the bullsh-- that's going on in the world, racism is at its peak. I wanna do the sh-- that's not being done. I wanna be the artist who ain't out. I wanna make the music I wanna hear. Earlier in the week Foxnews.com reported that a source close to L.A. Reid said the album wasn't on the label's release schedule.
After days of speculation on the title, Nas has decided to call his new album "N*gger". The rapper says the album will be released Dec. 11 but Def Jam has yet to confirm this date.
"I'm a street disciple," Nas responded, quoting one of his earlier album titles. "I'm talking to the streets. Stay out of our business. You ain't got no business worrying about what the word 'nigger' is or acting like you know what my album is about without talking to me. Whether you in the NAACP or you Jesse Jackson. I respect all of them ... I just want them to know: Never fall victim to Fox. Never fall victim to the sh-- they do. What they do is try to hurry up and get you on the phone and try to get you to talk about something you might not know about yet.
"I don't know where that [report] came from and neither does Def Jam," Nas said. "None of us knows where that came from."
Nas recently spoke to MTV News about the direction for his up-coming album:
"Salaam (Remi) — me and him have some real chemistry," Nas explained. "He can go from Amy Winehouse to Spragga Benz to come f--- with Nas. The other cats, some of us have somewhat of chemistry, some of us don't. ... [People] shouldn't trip off the [album's] title; the songs are crazier than the title."
Other artists/producers expected to appear on the album are DJ Toomp, Jermaine Dupri and Diddy.
Reggae Artist Lucky Dube Murdered
South African Reggae legend Lucky Dube was shot and killed in an attempted carjacking Thursday (Oct. 18) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
According to Reuters, the 43 year-old was dropping his son off in Johannesburg's Rossettenville suburb at 2 p.m. EDT when gunmen approached his vehicle in an attempt to carjack the musician and shots were fired killing Dube.
Police were searching for three suspects, police spokesman Eugene Opperman said.
"Lucky wasn't just big in South Africa, he was big in Africa and the rest of the world where he had a huge fan base. He was a fantastic ambassador for South African music, because he was always out there promoting South African music and reggae music around the world," said Gallo Music Chief Executive Officer Ivor Haarburger.
Over the course of his career Dube recorded more than 20 albums and won over 20 awards locally and internationally. His first album, released in 1984 with the title "Rastas Never Die", was banned by the country's apartheid government.
Micheal Jackson, Kanye, will.i.am & Akon Working On "Thriller 25"
Michael Jackson's attorney Peter Lopez has confirmed reports that the Jackson has been involved with some of Hip-Hop's biggest selling acts in putting together a 25th anniversary edition of his Thriller album.
"Billie Jean," "The Girl Is Mine," "Wanna Be Starting Something" and "Pretty Young Thing" are listed as the four tracks that will get a makeover from Kanye West, Akon and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. In addition to the updated tracks the album will also feature commemorative artwork and four additional songs that were left off of the original Thriller LP.
Jackson's longtime producer Bruce Swedien was able to confirm that "Don't Be Messin' Around" is in contention to be one of the four previously unavailable tracks. Since they still own the rights to music recorded under the Thriller catalogue, the album will most likely be released by Sony.
While there is no release date scheduled for the album, both Rolling Stone and Fox News report the album could be out in early 2008. Since its initial release in 1983, the RIAA lists Thriller at over 27 million certified copies sold.
Big Oomp To Head Up Koch South Urban
On the heels of his success with DJ Unk, Big Oomp of Big Oomp Records fame has been named to head up Koch South Urban, a newly formed division of Koch Records.
"I'm very happy with what Koch and I have come up with, and to head Koch South," Big Oomp said. "It's an honor to commit my energy into doing the best I can do to make sure we turn in hits. Koch is building its house and I'm glad to be a part of it. I've had a successful first year with Koch and think that they deserve to have me for a couple more years."
Under terms of the new deal, Koch will release albums from Big Oomp artists DJ Unk, Baby D and Big Korey.
"This is a watershed moment for our company and we are thrilled to enter into this expanded relationship with Big Oomp. We are very fortunate to have such a talented entrepreneur as our partner and are looking forward to blowing this up over the next few years" said Koch Records' President Bob Frank.

"If Cornell West was making an album called Nigger, they would know he's got something intellectual to say," Nas continued. "To think I'm gonna say something that's not intellectual is calling me a nigger, and to be called a nigger by Jesse Jackson and the NAACP is counterproductive, counter-revolutionary."
"I wanna make the word easy on mutha----as' ears," he explained. "You see how white boys ain't mad at 'cracker' 'cause it don't have the same [sting] as 'nigger'? Earlier in the week Foxnews.com reported that a source close to L.A. Reid said the album wasn't on the label's release schedule.
During a hearing at the Atlanta federal courthouse today, Magistrate Alan Baverman declined to rule on the matter of bail and ordered Tip back into court on Friday.
According to CNN, the rapper’s attorneys offered $2.2 million in bail which included equity in both of his homes, and bonds backed by top executives from both Atlantic and Warner Bros. Records.
Nonetheless, Baverman said he still needed time to consider the request for bond. Tip was arrested in Atlanta last Saturday while allegedly picking up three machine guns and silencers.
He is now facing a slew of federal weapons charges.
Something to appreciate
What's the quickest way out of a negative attitude? Have something ready and waiting that you can immediately and genuinely appreciate.
How do you find the hidden value in any situation? Look for something to truly appreciate.
When you seek to find things to appreciate, what you'll discover are hidden treasures upon which you can build great value. Look for what you can appreciate, and you'll find positive, powerful tools that will pull you forward.
Get in the habit of starting each day by thinking of something for which you can be thankful. Then, whenever you catch yourself falling into a negative thought pattern, you'll already have something positive toward which you can redirect your thoughts.
Each time you meet a new person, make it a point to find something, at the very outset of the relationship, that you can sincerely appreciate. Every time you find yourself in a new place or situation, look first for what you can appreciate about it.
Find something to appreciate, and your effectiveness will increase dramatically. Find something to appreciate, and you'll uncover real treasure.

We know how the world of hip hop works, once something news worthy happens in real life, it becomes fair game for rappers. it only took a couple of months before we got the mike vick line.
"....I'm killing the roof like Micheal Vick"
So we all know its just a matter of time before some rapper is going to spit:
"I got more Guns then T.I."
My question to you, my dear IHH readers, Who do you think will spit the line 1st?
Below I've put together a list of "suspects" and a brief reason why i think they will spit the line.
but this is you make the call, so I'm going to need ya'll to do just that.
Lil Wayne- Ok, Weezy is at the top of the list simply because he spit randomness all the time, and just the sheer amount of music he has out. So its not hard to imagine him spitting a line like.
" ....Machine guns got silencers to silence the competition, niggas bitchin, but I'm the King since Tip missin....."
Game- Just the sheer audacity of Chuck taylor, makes him a prime suspect. Tell me you cant hear Game spittin something like
Crooked I- Now Crooked being that he basically started the Free T.I. movement He may see this as crossing the line, but the fact that he puts out a rhyme every week makes him a candidate for it. He could spit
"....You know its Young Crooked, Boss of the West Coast, But you can call me Young Clifford, cause I'm rolling with hot toast..."
LLoyd Banks- Now being that he's the self proclaimed punchline king it only makes sense that he spits something like
"...if you got a Deathwish solider, come see me, cause you know the boy Banks got more guns than T.I.P....."
Kurupt- Now its no secret that I'm a Kurupt fan, but Kurupt was the 1st one i heard to spit the
Brian Nichols line. So its only natural for him to spit
T.I. Hires Powerful Team Of Lawyers
As he prepares for his bond hearing tomorrow (Oct. 18), T.I. has hired additional lawyers creating an all-star legal team.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, in addition to his original lawyers Steve Sadow and Dwight Thomas, T.I. has also added high powered attorney's Ed Garland and Don Samuel to the defense team.
“[Sadow] and I have known each other a very long time, and both my partner [Samuel] and I have worked together with him on many cases,” Garland told the AJC.
Garland previously defended NFL linebacker Ray Lewis who beat a murder charge in 2000 after pleading out to a misdemeanor charge.
T.I. was indicted on three federal charges Wednesday (October 16) and charged with possessing unregistered machine guns and silencers, unlawfully possessing machine guns and being a convicted felon in possession of firearms.
Many feel it is unlikely T.I. will receive bond on Friday as he has a prior crack cocaine felony conviction. The AJC reports that Federal prosecutors want to keep T.I. locked up until his trial date which is several months away.
Prosecutors Withdraw Charges Against Beanie Sigel
Prosecutors in Philadelphia have withdrawn car theft charges against Beanie Sigel after he resolved a dispute over a rented Nissan Altima.
Sigel had rented the vehicle from Payless Car Rental in South Philly in July and failed to return the car on when it was due back on August 13.
When the vehicle was never returned, Payless reported it as stolen but continued to charge the rapper’s credit card. The vehicle was eventually returned on October 5, but $5,000 in late fees had accumulated.
According to the Associated Press, prosecutors withdrew the charges during a preliminary hearing on Thursday. “This essentially was a misunderstanding between the two parties,” said Beanie’s attorney Fortunato Perri, who noted that all outstanding fees have been paid.
Damon Dash Thinks Jay-Z's Single Lacks "Magic"
With Mr. Untouchable, the latest film being produced by Damon Dash Enterprises, landing in theatres later this month, Damon Dash spoke to reporters about the legacy of Nicky Barnes, and his thoughts on the American Gangster film and former partner, Jay-Z's upcoming album.
Mr. Untouchable is the Marc Levin directed documentary about the rise and fall of Nicky Barnes, one of Harlem's biggest heroin dealers and most infamous informants. For Dash, a Harlem native, it is a legend he was raised on and one he has worked for years to bring to the screen.
"Up until I was like 10 or 11, Nicky Barnes was the guy I wanted to be," Dash said. "He was the guy that had the car, the girls, the jewelry. He was arrogant, he had the swagger and that's really what Harlem is. Until he flipped, he was my hero."
Dash initially worked towards making a dramatized version of the film, procuring rights to the story first through David Breitbart, longtime Barnes attorney, then via Joseph "Jazz" Hayden, Barnes' former associate who has since become a political activist.
"I got the script written numerous amounts of times but black gangster flicks really don't check in Hollywood, so it's hard to get a studio to make it," Dash explained. "I was talking to Marc (Levin) about another project he was doing called OG and he was telling me he's about to do Nicky Barnes."
"Every other culture has their story, has their Goodfellas and their Casino, the Irish had it, the Italians get it, why can't we have it," Dash asked. "I don't want to glorify him because the majority of people I know from Harlem that heard I was doing anything with Nicky Barnes was like 'Yo, let him die! Do not bring him back to life because people might get the wrong message.' When I saw the way the documentary was you don't really love him, you understand him, but you don't love him - you actually hate him when you walk out."
Times are good for films about Harlem drug dealers, Ridley Scott's ddramatic story of Barnes rival Frank Lucas, starring Denzel Washington, Common, T.I. and Russell Crowe, coincidently, is being released in November.
"Everybody wants to know what American Gangster is going to be," Dash said. "If that does well, it will open a lot of doors for us to do other things that kind of relate to the urban marketplace."
The film has already been praised by Dash's ex-business partner, Jay-Z, who plans to release an album inspired by the movie next month.
"Every time I hear Jay-Z is making a record I get excited because I'm a fan of him as a rapper," Dash said. "But it's almost like when you hear [Michael] Jordan is coming back to the league, happy-sad, like 'Damn man, he's coming back but his knee is not the same!'" Dash said. "I hope he does a good job, I hope he comes back and does right by it."
But Dash is not convinced that Jay-Z's early attempts at recreating old successes will meet the high standards he remembers of early Jigga.
"If Jay is gonna come back with that Reasonable Doubt, @#!* let's do it," Dash continued. "I don't care, because overall I'm a fan, regardless of what he did and how he did it, but if he doesn't bring the ruckus and it's 'I'm getting it...' [mockingly reciting the chorus to Jay's new single "Blue Magic"], how would you feel? "
Mr. Untouchable hits theatres on October 26.
Jadakiss, Treach & Ashanti To Star In Murder Drama
The New York Post and the New York Daily News both report that Jadakiss, Ashanti and Treach of Naughty By Nature will star alongside former Sopranos star Michael Imperioli in You're Nobody 'til Somebody Kills You.
The film is a murder drama with a Hip-Hop fueled plot based in New York. Spike Lee's longtime assistant director, Michael "Boogie" Pinckney will direct the film under his Blackfoot Films imprint and Lee will serve as executive producer. Sonae Ryder will also make an appearance.
Birdman Set To Fly Again, New Star-Studded Album Coming Soon
After winning a Viewer's Choice award at this year's BET Hip Hop Awards, Cash Money Records CEO Baby is set to re-up with a new album, 5 * Stunna.
The record, which will be Birdman's third solo effort and the follow-up to 2005's Fast Money, is set to hit stores sometime this winter. It will feature guest appearances from Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Lil' Wayne and new Cash Money member Brisco.
The set is also said to feature production from trusted beat makers Cool & Dre, Swizz Beatz, Scott Storch and T Mixx, among others. The album's lead single, "Poppin Bottles," has been continuing to gain momentum on both national radio and video outlets as of late. While not confirmed, the record's second single is rumored to be the posse cut "100 Million," which sees the Birdman sharing mic time with Lil' Wayne, Rick Ross and Young Jeezy.
Jaheim Signs With Atlantic Records, Preps New Album
Jaheim, is the latest artist to join Atlantic Records' roster.
The singer's first piece of business will be to release his highly anticipated next album, but before that, he's already leaked his first single, "Never," which is getting a warm reception at radio.
Jaheim's as-yet-untitled new album will see the New Brunswick, New Jersey-born singer joining forces with a variety of artists including KayGee (Naughty By Nature, Zhane), and R. Kelly, among others. Among its expected highlights will be a duet with Keyshia Cole, as well as a tribute to Jaheim’s hero, Luther Vandross, recorded with the dearly departed soulman's former producer, Nat Adderley Jr.
In addition to the new album, Jaheim can be heard on Atlantic's soundtrack to the new film, Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married?" He is featured on “DJ Don’t (Remix),” alongside the late, great R&B legend, Gerald Levert. It's in stores now.
Jaheim burst onto the scene with 2001's acclaimed Ghetto Love. Fueled by the breakthrough singles, "Could It Be" and "Just In Case," the album reached the Billboard 200's top 10 on its way to earning RIAA platinum for sales exceeding 1 million.
After the album, he was honored with a number of award nominations, including the Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single (for "Just In Case"), and the BET Awards for 'Best Male R&B Artist.
He went on to release his sophomore album, Still Ghetto, in 2004, which was also a commercial and critical success, then ended this Ghetto trilogy with Ghetto Classics in 2006.

It's your life
There's no sense in fighting over the scraps that others might or might not throw under the table. Instead, get busy and create your own magnificent feast.
Stop going from door to door begging for someone else to solve all your problems for you. Instead, pick a formidable challenge, work your way through it, and you'll build plenty of strength and experience to handle whatever situations come your way.
What possible use is there in developing elaborate arguments that place the blame for your difficulties on someone else? Put your energy into creating a brilliant future, not into fighting over what has already been left behind.
This is your life. The only person who can successfully live it is you.
Do you really think you can ever find fulfillment by signing over your control and responsibility to someone else? You're here to live and to do, not to merely observe and complain.
Nothing that could ever be done for you or handed to you can come close to the experience of making a positive difference in your own unique way. This is your life, so jump right in and live the exquisite richness as you make your own way through.

Oct 17, 2007
“The G-Unit album Shoot To Kill is coming out December 18th, so cancel Christmas, it’s over,” 50 Cent said. “It’s a righteous kill.”
The group’s first album, Beg For Mercy, which was recorded largely during Tony Yayo’s incarceration, sold over 2 million copies when it was released in 2003.
Funkmaster Flex will be premiering the Shoot To Kill’s first track “Wanna Lick,” which features Lil’ Kim, tomorrow on New York’s Hot 97.
Shocking News, Cam'ron, former leader of the Diplomats, has been spotted. Take alook at this exclusive video.
The last word we heard from Killa was in the spring via YouTube footage in which he threatened 50 Cent, warning it "would be a hot summer." As 50 has continually reminded us, Cam wouldn't be around once the summer was over.
When contacted Wednesday evening, a source close to Killa informed us Cam has just finished his mixtape Public Enemy and that it will be out soon. Cam is also said to address all the turmoil within the Diplomats camp during the street-CD intro. Cam's next album might be coming as early as the top of the year, and it may not be called Killa Season 2, as originally planned. He's been shopping a new record deal as well.

Foxy's Lawyer Drops Case After His Wife Is Threatened
An attorney representing Foxy Brown has asked to be excused from the case on Tuesday (October 16) after his wife was threatened by a mysterious man.
According to the New York Daily News, attorney Alan Stutman says his wife was approached by a man last Friday night (October 12) in the lobby of their Brooklyn building. After getting out of a silver car, the man approached Stutman’s wife and said, “How can a beautiful woman like you be beaten up?,” before fleeing the area.
Stutman had been representing Foxy on charges of assault, attempted assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon stemming from her alleged attack of a neighbor with her Blackberry cell phone.
On Tuesday, the Brooklyn rapper, who is currently incarcerated for one year on a probation violation, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
At the pre-media release screening of the new film "Tupac: Assassination - Conspiracy or Revenge?" last Thursday, former Death Row bodyguard Kevin Hackie said he was undercover for the FBI during his time at the label from 1992 - 1996.
Hackie, who also said that "An arrest will be made in this (2Pac) case," made his comments to an already anxious and restless crowd of close to one hundred people who peppered the panel with questions. Hackie joined the film makers, R. J. Bond and ex Tupac bodyguard Frank "Big Frank" Alexander on the panel for the Q & A after taking issue with an LAPD detective who was in the audience defending the department's handling of the case, which had serious L.A. implications even though Tupac was killed in Las Vegas.
The new DVD Tupac Assassination lays out the entire murder conspiracy plot surrounding the murder of the best selling Hip Hop artist of all time. This eye-opening documentary points out all of the failures of law enforcement officials to fully investigate, follow up on leads and interview key parties involved in this tragic event. Now that the DVD will be available, the smoke and confusion caused by unsubstantiated rumors, myopic myths and urban legends will dissipate and a clear picture will appear from the confusion.
Def Jam Denies Nas' Claims That His Album Will Be Titled Nigga
Island Def Jam denied claims made by Nas recently that his next album was to be controversially titled Nigga on Tuesday (October 16), and that's not all.
The label also said that the rapper would not be releasing an album in December, despite what the rapper told a New York audience on Friday (October 12).
"There is no album release by Nas on the release schedule at this point," a source close to Island Def Jam Music Group chairman, Antonio "L.A." Reid, told FOXNews.com. "And they would be unlikely to release an album with that title. How would that look at Wal-Mart?"
According to the news channel, the rapper performed at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on Friday, where he is made the comments in question: an album by the title Nigga was dropping in December.
Sorry Nas, looks like it's not happening.
Not only did Def Jam not support Nas' claims, but others within the black community aren't as well.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson wasn't supportive, calling the proposed title "morally offensive" and "socially distasteful."
"The title using the 'N' word is morally offensive and socially distasteful," Jackson said in a statement to FoxNews.com. "Nas has the right to degrade and denigrate in the name of free speech, but there is no honor in it.
"Radio and television stations have no obligation to play it and self-respecting people have no obligation to buy it. I wish he would use his talents to lift up and inspire, not degrade, making mockery of racism," he continued.
Diddy Makes Nice W/ Assault Victim, Lawyer Says Puff Will Not Be Arrested Today
It appears that Sean "Diddy" Combs and alleged beating victim Steven Acevedo have made amends since their highly publicized scuffle over the weekend.
As previously reported, Combs allegedly pounded Acevedo outside SoHo night spot Kiosk Saturday morning (October 13) after the two had a heated argument about one of Diddy's old girlfriends.
But, according to TMZ, Puff and Acevedo - who apparently have been friends for over 13 years - shared a table at popular New York hotspot Butter last night (October 15) and reportedly came to an agreement. As the two exited minutes apart, neither would speak to cameras about what they'd discussed.
Diddy was expected to turn himself in to authorities today and face the music, but his attorney Benjamin Brafman confirmed that's not going to happen.
"[Diddy] is not going to be arrested today," he said in a statement. "We are hopeful that this matter will be resolved without the filing of any criminal charges as this was a disagreement among acquaintances, not a criminal assault."
Re-Trial of C-Murder Set For February
C-Murder will stand trial for a second time in February on a second-degree murder charge. A New Orleans judge made the ruling yesterday (Oct. 16).
Judge Martha Sassone announced the trial date as February 11. The charge stems from an incident in Jan. 2002 where Miller is accused of shooting and killing Steve Thomas at Harvey nightclub.
Corer "C-Murder" Miller was originally sentenced to life in prison for the crime in Sept. 2003. An appeal for the rapper was successful and his conviction was overturned in March 2004. It was later in 2004 that Judge Martha Sassone ordered a new trial date for the rapper which was decided on yesterday.
If convicted of the crime, Miller faces a mandatory life sentence.
Trina Addresses Missy Elliott Rumors
In an industry where many of the women rocking the mic have also been seen rocking handcuffs and alcohol detection anklets, Trina has done her best to remain drama free. Slip-N-Slide's Diamond Princess drops jewels about music industry catfights, why female rappers need to band together, and those old romance rumors about her and Missy Elliott.
Troubled by hip-hop's current state, Trina is speaking out about the need for unity among women in rap.
"With Foxy going through what she's going through; Remy going through what she's going through; the situation that happened with Kim; we are so out of ourselves," Trina said "I love Kim, I love Eve and Missy and Brat...We don't get enough credit as we deserve as girls, with so many guys [in this business]. There's not that many girls, and the girls that are in hip-hop don't stick together.
"Put your egos to the side, put all that other foolishness to the side, let's join forces and make great records," she continued. "Let's get on a tour. There are so many tours that go out that are all guys, it's never girls... It could be huge, but nobody takes the chance of putting that foot forward to make it happen."
Fortunately, Trina says her friend and recent VH1 Hip-Hop Honoree Missy Elliott, is working on changing that.
"I spoke with Missy, she is trying to get all the women and girls and do this one big huge record," Trina revealed. "I thought it was a great idea. I don't know if we will be able to make it happen, but it would be a big deal for the women in hip-hop. If not, everybody is all over the place, we don't even have a category at Awards anymore, that's not cool."
Trina also spoke on another "not cool" subject - the old rumors that she and Missy were "more than friends."
"At first I was bothered," Trina admitted. "Missy is a mentor to me, I came into this game and I looked up to her. To have somebody embrace me like that and say you should do this kind of record, this kind of show, I appreciated her as my friend, her being there to give support because everybody doesn't do that.
"When I heard the rumors that we were more than friends, at first I was like 'that's the ignorant minds of some people,'" she added. "But people are going to say whatever, regardless. She is just my friend, that's it. It's never been a more than just friends."
In the end, Trina says she's learned rumors and speculation are just the cost of working in entertainment.
"In this industry if you are seen standing next to somebody or taking a picture you are sleeping with them," she said. "Why can't it just be we are just friends or I just met this person? It's unfair, but it's the business, that's what people feed off."
"Sometimes people don't realize that artists are still human," Trina explained. "It's been times I've been on my tour bus on the road traveling and crying because I've heard something that's not true and I'm upset, but what can you do? Almost nothing. I've learned to just deal with it. I'm able to keep my integrity, keep calm and keep cool. This is entertainment, if I wasn't an entertainer then people wouldn't care, but because I am, they care. Let them keep talking, when they stop talking about me, I'm not working.
Trina's new songs "Single Again" and "I Got a Bottle" ft. Missy Elliott are out now. Her next album Da Baddest Chick Reloaded is scheduled to drop in February 2008.
JOHN LEGEND TO LAUNCH HIS OWN LABEL
R&B singer John Legend is about to jump into the business side of the music industry with the launch of his own label through Atlantic Records.
Titled HomeSchool, the imprint's first artist will be British singer/rapper/songwriter/producer Estelle, a West London native who has drawn comparisons to Lauryn Hill, according to Billboard.com.
Estelle's debut album, titled "Shine," is due for release on Feb. 12 with Legend as its executive producer. Producers on the project include Wyclef Jean, will.i.am, Swizz Beatz and Mark Ronson as well as Legend, who also has a cameo in the "Wait" video..
The first single will be the track "Wait a Minute (Just a Touch)," while Kanye West makes a guest appearance on "American Boy." Cee-Lo is also featured on one of the tracks.
Asked about other artists on the HomeSchool roster, Legend tells Billboard.com that no one else is signed yet and the label is non-exclusive. "This isn't a blanket imprint. There will be some artists a label partner may like and some they don't. I'm doing this one at a time."
As for his own next album, Legend says he has three songs in the can (one of which features will.i.am) for an expected release date of summer 2008. In the meantime, he's just returned from Zanzibar and Tanzania where he shot the video for his latest single, "Show Me."

One more attempt
If you are always willing to make one more attempt, you can reach whatever goal you choose. No matter what results you get, the only real failure is when you stop making the effort.
When you are mistaken, you can learn. When you are knocked down, you can get back up.
When you find that you've veered off track, you can correct your direction. When you discover that circumstances have changed, you can make adjustments accordingly.
Eventually, you'll reach the point at which the next attempt you make is the one that will complete the desired accomplishment. What a shame it would be to stop just one effort short of success.
For that next effort will make all the others pay off. Commit yourself to making one more effort, one more attempt, as often as necessary, and anything is within your reach.
Keep making that one more attempt, keep getting back up, and keep moving forward in the direction of your goal, one step after another. And you will surely get there.

Feds Display Weapons Seized From T.I.'s Home and SUV
Yesterday (Oct. 15) federal agents displayed the weapons seized from T.I.'s home and SUV in their raid of the rapper last Saturday (Oct. 13).
The Atlanta Journal Constitution has a detailed look at the weaponry.
The last place a machine gun or silencer should be in the hands of a convicted felon, who’s not legally allowed to posess any type of firearm,” said David Nahmias, a government prosecutor.
T.I. has been ordered to remain in federal custody until Friday (Oct. 19) when he will be present in court for a bail hearing.
Diddy Turns Himself In To Authorities Over Weekend Scuffle
Diddy is expected to turn himself in to police today (October 16) and face charges over a physical altercation he had over the weekend, according to New York's Daily News.
As previously reported sources say Puff was at a popular SoHo nightspot, Kiosk, Saturday morning (Oct. 13) when he and an acquaintance began screaming about an ex-girlfriend of Diddy's, sources said.
After a heated round of swapping insults, things appeared to cool before Diddy and his bodyguards came back.
The alleged victim, 31-year-old Steven Acevedo told cops the mogul punched him in the mouth, knocking him to the ground, and then once he got up, Puffy struck him again.
One source said they overheard a bodyguard boast to Acevedo, "We won't shoot you. You can even hold our guns." The source also confirmed that no weapon was displayed and no witnesses saw any weapon.
Acevedo, went home after the scuffle and phoned police hours later. He and his lawyer declined to comment.
Sources say after Diddy turns himself in, he'll be fingerprinted and served with a desk appearance ticket for a misdemeanor assault charge.
Diddy's attorney, Benjamin Brafman, referred questions to a representative with Dan Klores Communications, who declined comment.
In related news, Puff appeared before a judge on Friday (October 13) about another alleged attack. As previously reported, alleged victim Gerald Rechnitzer accused the mogul of jumping on him at Teddy's Night Club at the Roosevelt Hotel. He said Diddy yelled, "I'll smack flames out your @$$!"
The judge ordered that Diddy produce photographs of the rings he was wearing that night.
Foxy Brown Pleads Not Guilty in Assault Case
Foxy Brown finally made it onto a bus from Rikers Island to Brooklyn state Supreme Court for a hearing on her pending assault case today.
URSH AND TAMEKA TELL ALL TO ESSENCE
Usher and his bride Tameka Foster grace the new November cover of Essence magazine and speak candidly about the roller-coaster ride that carried them toward the altar and, soon, parenthood.
"Ours is not a typical love story, but it is a true one," Usher tells writer Joan Morgan. "Tameka and I have been fortunate enough to go through the thick of it in the beginning. We've had that opportunity to huddle up as a team, to make sure that we're clear and speak as one voice."
Usher and Tameka, who are expecting a baby boy in the coming months, say they were stunned that the announcement was met with such negative press.
"It was like, wow," says Usher, who just celebrated his 29th birthday Sunday. "[Getting married] and having a child is something that everyone should celebrate. What's happened to us as a culture and a people?"
Foster, 37, said she was even hated on by folks closer to home.
"Thank God I didn't listen to my girlfriends," she says. "Usher was my road dawg. I'd seen him love, and I'd watched him date women who were not worthy of him. He was so sweet, going out of his way to cater to their every need. And I'd see them not even be grateful."
She adds that their love is based on complete openness – something she hasn't experienced in her romantic life before.
"I feel totally uninhibited with Usher," Foster says. "I've never been in a situation with anyone, even as far back as high school, where there were no secrets. I know I can tell him anything and he's not going to judge me. I can finally share my dreams. And because of that, I know that man loves me."
Trina, Gabrielle Union Among Those To Participate In Miami's Hip-Hop Summit
Russell Simmons' Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) is gearing up to head back to Miami, Florida on Saturday (October 20) with the message of financial literacy -- via their Hip-Hop Summit on Financial Empowerment, dubbed "Get Your Money Right."
With problems like the housing market crash affecting the economy, jobs, student loans and consumer confidence, the HSAN feel that young people need some sound financial advice on how to best manage their money -- and who to better influence them than hip-hop stars?
With HSAN Co-Chairmen Russell Simmons and Dr. Benjamin Chavis scheduled to be present, other stars such as Miami's Trina, actress Gabrielle Union, Ne-Yo, LeToya Luckett, Joell Ortiz and Huey are all slated to attend, all of which will definitely draw in a big crowd of kids.
"With the proper education and information about financial literacy, a young person today can work hard and still be successful, even during the current economic environment," said Simmons. "Hip-hop is about creating and maximizing opportunity. It is about transforming the American dream into a living reality. Our 'Get Your Money Right' Hip-Hop Summits are about helping young people empower themselves with the basic tools of financial empowerment."
The Hip-Hop Summit on Financial Empowerment is a grassroots effort to help engage young people in discussions about the importance of personal finance. The "Get Your Money Right" agenda features an interactive panel discussion on financial literacy, including such topics as the basics of banking, repairing and understanding credit scores, asset and wealth management, vehicle financing and home ownership.
Now in its third successful year, the Hip-Hop Summit on Financial Empowerment brings together the powerful combination of hip-hop stars and Chrysler Financial experts to speak to students and community members about the importance of financial literacy.
The tour utilizes the "Get Your Money Right" workbook, produced and distributed by HSAN in both English and Spanish and given to all participants. But those who don't attend can get it free online at HSAN.org.
"How we as consumers manage our money determines our credit worthiness, provides us with access to financial tools, such as mortgages and affects our overall quality of life," said William F. Jones Jr., Chief Operating Officer -- Chrysler Financial. "At the Summit our employee volunteers will empower participants to make good financial choices that will benefit them for a lifetime because it is easier to establish good credit initially than to repair bad credit later."
The Miami summit will take place at the Florida Memorial University's A. Chester Robinson Athletic Center at 15800 Northwest 42 Ave. in Miami Gardens, Flordia. The program takes place from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. with doors opening at noon.
Tickets for the Miami Summit are free and available at HSAN.org.
The 2007 "Get Your Money Right" tour will make one more stop in 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia on November 3.

Cassidy has a little advice for mogul Jay-Z. The Swizz Beatz protégé thinks the Def Jam prez should push his album back.
"I think right now, the way that I got the hood on smash and the way that my song is poppin' off, I don't think it would be a smart decision for Hov to drop on November 6," Cassidy said
Cass' new project, The Barry Adrien Reese Story (B.A.R.S.) is slated to hit shelves the same day as Hov's concept album American Gangster.
And though Jay's "unofficial soundtrack" to the flick of the same name has been getting good reviews, Cass said American Gangster is not as anticipated as any of Hov's classics.
"It ain't like when [The Blueprint] Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 was gonna drop, it's a lot different," Cassidy said.
Cassidy's third solo effort is the follow up to I'm a Hustla, in which he sampled Hov's voice on the title track.
Cassidy compared the projected sales stand-off to that of 50 Cent and Kanye West.
"The same way that Kanye and 50 both benefited from dropping on the same day, I think if I drop with somebody as legendary as Hov, I can't do nothing but benefit from that," Cass said. "I'm happy that Hov, a person that really takes lyricism seriously, is coming back out again."
Hov isn't the only one Cass says isn't fit to come against him. The rapper recently smashed rumors of a battle rap with Joe Budden, saying the only emcee fit to battle him was himself.
Some body just hit me off with all this weezy-ness so i thought i'd share it with ya'll enjoy.

Feel whatever you choose
Stop working so diligently to make your feelings match your circumstances. Realize instead that you can select and direct your feelings to create much more favorable circumstances of your own choosing.
There's no law that says you must harbor feelings of disappointment, dismay, anger and futility when events don't go your way. You can just as easily feel amused, enlightened and more positively inspired than ever before.
You could use your feelings to prolong a difficult situation. Or you can choose other feelings that will enable you to transcend your greatest difficulties and move forward.
How do you feel positive when the world around you is so negative? Just ask yourself whether you would rather be imprisoned by your feelings or empowered by them.
From moment to moment, you are constantly choosing which feelings to hold on to and which ones to discard. Be ever mindful of this power that is yours, for by improving the way you feel you can improve anything in your life to whatever degree you decide.
Your feelings are powerful forces, and by taking control of them you can move your life in any direction. Feel whatever you choose, and you are choosing to make it so.

You went after Lil’ Wayne on “Part-Time Lover” with the rhyme “You make me want to kiss you like Baby do Wayne/And make you call me Daddy like Baby do Wayne/Damn, that shit sounds gay, it’s insane/I guess that’s the price a lil’ nigga pay for fame.” What’s that about?
I’ve already baited Lil’ Wayne to come on out so I can break his little neck. My consistency will break his neck the same way LL’s consistency broke Canibus’. Lil’ Wayne is a talented rapper but not a great songwriter. He has had great verses on other people’s projects, but they were not his complete ideas over production that he picked. He’s not marrying the right production and lyrics to make classic hit records.
But if he’s not coming after you, why bother him?
Why not break his neck? I got nothing else to do. If they set you up to believe you are in a situation you’re not actually in yet, then you go out there… See, he’s saying what he’s saying to Jay because Jay didn’t respond to him. I’m giving him something to work off. Is that one of 50’s laws? Yeah. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense.

Jay-Z Regrets Kingdom Come, Corrects Kanye
In an Interview with Rolling Stones magazine, Def jam President Jay-Z lets loose on how he really feels about “Kingdom Come”, Don Imus, Mims, the industry and Kanye West.
“I don’t think people process music the same way [we used to],” He said. “Before, we used to listen to lyrics and then find out if the beat was hot later and then did the Wop.” he called out a line from MIMS’s “This is Why I’m Hot”. “When a guy says ‘I could make a million saying nothing’ on a track, you know you’ve reached a bad place,” he said. “It’s way past salvaging. I’m going the other way. That’s why [my album] is the way it is.”
For “American Gangsta” Jay used personal memories he hadn’t gone back to in a while. He reflected on his early life when he was living in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects, saying, “The things that we have to see in one day, a lot of people never see in their life. People could live their whole life and never see a crack vial or a dope needle or a shootout. When I saw my first person get shot, I was nine years old”, “It’s typical to see people get shot before you’re ten. That has to have some type of effect on you.” He added, “People act this way for a reason: hope. You start looking around the neighborhood and there’s no role models to look up to. You got the worst schools, the worst roads, the worst of everything. To see the straight way to get out of that, it’s so far away that you start losing hope.”
During the interview Jay tried to defend his music by saying; “I try to tell both sides of the story,” he said, reciting lyrics from “Dead Presidents” (“Hit with the RICO, they repo your vehicle/Everything was all good just a week ago”). “There’s pitfalls: you might go to jail, you might get shot, your brother might die, and your neighbor’s mother just sold her crack and she’s messed up. And you’re messing up the community. You gotta deal with that.”
While discussing one of the tracks from the new album “Ignorant Shit,” a track that deals with censorship and calls out Don Imus, Jigga let loose on the radio host and the controversy about hip-hop lyrics that was stirred by his firing. “Imus is a racist,” Hov declared. “He’s not a person that listens to rap or was influenced by rap, so the two things don’t have anything to do with each other, so fuck him.”
He also spoke on the big marketing push that preceded his last album, Kingdom Come which saw him collaborating with everyone from Budweiser to NASCAR. “People talk about the marketing plan as if I spent some money. I’ve been watching this for a year — ‘the marketing plan was $30 million’ — I didn’t pay them, they paid me,” he said. “I didn’t pay Budweiser, I didn’t pay TNT, I didn’t pay HP, they all paid me. Looking back, I guess it was a little extravagant. Then I shut it down, as the president. Shot two videos and walked away from it. I did the right thing.” He also suggested some regrets about Kingdom: “Maybe it was too sophisticated. Maybe I fucked up.”
Jay also showed some regret at his repeated declarations of “retirements” and promised not to make any more promises. “I was watching Fade to Black on VH1, and I was cringing, because I kept saying, ‘It may be the last album’ — I’ve made two albums already!” he says, laughing. “When I put The Black Album out, I said I wasn’t going to say that anymore. I just stopped talking. Nobody believes it. Not even you.”
Since graduation was such a huge success and Kanye West has been a hot topic, Jay spoke about his little brother. he stated that he loved Kanye’s Jigga tribute “Big Brother,” but light-heartedly corrected ‘Ye’s version of what happened specifically that Hov made him buy tickets to a show at Madison Square Garden and that Jay stole West’s idea to record with Coldplay.
“Not everything on the song was true, but it was true in his mind,” said Jay. “He says ‘Carleen said I could buy two tickets.’ You would think he didn’t get any tickets. I gave him four, he wanted six. It was a charity event! And Coldplay — I introduced him to Coldplay, I gave him the number! But I thought it was a brilliant song. It brought us closer together.”
FOXY BROWN REFUSES BUS TO COURT
Not even a Rikers Island prison cell can chip away at the diva attitude of Inga "Foxy Brown" Marchand, who reportedly refused three times to board a correction department bus Friday for a court appearance in Brooklyn.
According to reports, the 28-year-old rapper was due to leave Rikers Island for her arraignment in Brooklyn Supreme Court. She reportedly missed the first bus because she was still getting her hair and make up done. She missed the second bus because it arrived before she had time to eat lunch. A third bus came, but Brown – for some reason – just decided not to go.
Her arraignment has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Oct. 16). Authorities said they will take the inmate there by force if she doesn't cooperate.
The artist was sentenced to a year in jail for violating probation by skipping her court-ordered anger management classes and traveling out of the city without permission. The probation stemmed from her 2004 case involving an altercation with workers at a New York City nail salon.
Her scheduled arraignment on Friday was in connection with assault charges in August. Foxy Brown was accused of striking 25-year-old Arlene Raymond after the pair argued over Brown blasting her car stereo.
Chevrolet Reviewing Endorsement Deal With T.I.
In response to his recent arrest on weapons charges, Chevrolet is reportedly reviewing their endorsement deal with T.I.
According to TMZ.com, the car company has yet to make a decision on whether they will continue their endorsement deal with T.I. A spokesperson for Chevrolet told TMZ "They are reviewing the situation."
The company secured an endorsement deal with T.I. earlier this year in order to promote their line of cars, with a focus on the new Impala.
"Chevy is a brand that represents a voice of American Revolution, and T.I. shares some of those same values" said Chevrolet back in May.
Police Investigating Diddy Over Alleged Assault
Police are currently investigating Diddy over an alleged assault that occurred early yesterday morning.
The New York Post reports that Diddy was at Kiosk nightclub in SoHo at 3:30 a.m. when he got into an altercation with a man named Steven Acevedo over a woman. The two men exchanged words and parted ways.
The two men ran into each other again and started to argue. That's when reports say Diddy hit the man with a "one-two" punch hitting Acevedo in the face leaving the man bloodied.
When Acevedo attempted to strike the mogul, Diddy's bodyguard allegedly put his hand in his waist band as if he was going to draw a weapon.
Acevedo left the club, went home and called the police to file a report. Police are said to be looking at surveillance video and have requested a statement from Diddy, who, at this time has not been arrested or charged.
Nas Titles New Album Nigga
According to MTV News, during a performance at New York’s Roseland Ballroom on October 12, Nas told concertgoers that his new album will be called Nigga and will be released in December.
While details surrounding the LP are still sketchy, MTV confirmed the project’s name and producer Jermaine Dupri has expressed interest in contributing to the album.
In addition, Nas will release his Greatest Hits LP in November and will shoot a video for one of the album’s new songs, “Surviving the Times.”
BMF's Bleu DaVinci Indicted On Drug Conspiracy Charges
Southern California native and rapper Bleu DaVinci, BMF Entertainment's flagship artist, was indicted on Friday (October 8) for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
The rapper (real name: Barima P. McKnight), along with five other men, who authorities have accused of multiple kilos of cocaine, starting around 2003, were officially named by a U.S. District Court judge in Atlanta who signed an order to officially unseal an indictment that had been filed in July.
According to Creative Loafing Atlanta, Bleu DaVinci is suspected of taking over the BMF Entertainment record label, which the Feds believe is a front for their cocaine trade, after alleged BMF co-leader Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory was indicted two years ago on cocaine conspiracy charges.
Demetrius Flenory, and his brother and alleged co-leader Terry "Southwest T" Flenory, and at least nine of their 40 co-defendants are scheduled for trial November 5th in Detroit, where the Feds believe was the birthplace for their alleged $270 million cocaine enterprise before branching off to both Atlanta and Los Angeles. The brothers both face a continuing criminal enterprise charge, which can carry a mandatory life sentence.
AHH.com reports that DaVinci and the other men indicted are also accused of obtaining fraudulent drivers licenses from an individual working for the State of Tennessee, in an effort to conceal their true identities, upon run-ins with law enforcement, as well as transporting large sums of U.S. currency that are proceeds from the sale and distribution of cocaine that was provided by senior members of BMF.
"It was only by way of their membership in BMF or association there with that defendants were able to gain access to the cocaine that was distributed as part of this conspiracy," said David E. Nahmias, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, who filed the indictment.
Bleu DaVinci and the five other defendants whose names were revealed last week: Terry "Taz" Biles, Vernon "Wu" Coleman, Michael "Freak" Green, Innocent "Fifty" Guerville, and Deron "D-Shock" Hall, have yet to be apprehended, the Creative Loafing Atlanta reports.
The rapper is the sole artist from the BMF artist roster. Their most recent release was Bleu DaVinci Presents: The World Is BMF's Vol. 2, a compilation that featured the likes of Yukmouth, Jacki-O, S-Class, and Big Meech himself, among others. In an interview with MTV News, Ghostface Killah expresses his frustrations that the Wu-Tang Clan will release their new album, The 8 Diagrams, on December 4, the same date Pretty Toney plans to drop his new solo LP, The Big Dough Rehab.
“I had December 4 for the longest,” Ghost told MTV. “But the Wu album, brothers was kinda late on doing whatever they were doing and pushed it back…on my date. I’m not [mad at] all the members. It’s not based on the members, but the hierarchy at Wu-Tang Clan is on some bullshit. They trying to fuck around and make me push my album back and doing all this. But niggas ain’t fucking around or give us money when we did them Wu-Tang tours. They first one, they paid us after a while, but this last one, niggas is holding onto a lot of money. And [they’re] upset based on that. It’s a battle right now.”
The Big Dough Rehab will be Ghostface’s fourth album on Def Jam Records and will feature guest appearances by Raekwon and Method Man, and production by Scram Jones. Producer Sean C. will helm the boards for the LP’s lead single, “Celebrate,” which also features the legendary Kid Capri.
“The Big Dough Rehab is my album,” Ghost told MTV News. “8 Diagrams is their album. But it ain’t got nothing to do with the regular members. ‘Cause I love Raekwon, Masta Killa, U-God, Genius, all them. But it’s on right now.”
In addition, Tony Starks claims SRC Records CEO, Steve Rifkind, who signed the Wu to Loud Records, has allegedly made calls to stop Ghost from releasing The Big Dough Rehab on December 4.
Soulja Boy Accused Of Stealing Name From Another Artist
While Soulja Boy enjoys four consecutive weeks at the top of the singles chart with his single "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" and the no. 3 album in the country with SouljaBoyTellEm.com, another artist with a pretty similar name is looking to spoil his fun.
As reported by TMZ.com, a rapper who also goes by the moniker Souljah Boy -- expect with an "h" at the end -- is claiming the teen pop rapper is infringing his name, since he's had it for nearly 12 years.
This other Souljah Boy was a part of the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony offshoot, Mo Thugs, during the 90s, and tells TMZ that he was "stunned" when DeAndre Way (Soulja Boy's real name), Interscope and Collipark decided to "infringe and misappropriate his name."
Soulja Boy's rep said that they have yet to be contacted about the name confusion, but pointed out that technically Soulja Boy's full artist name is Soulja Boy Tell 'Em.
