Tony Yayo's Lawyer Wants Assault Charges Dropped
Tony Yayo's lawyer wants the charges against the G-Unit rapper dropped after yesterday's courtroom revelation that another man confessed to the assault of Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond's 14-year-old son.
As previously reported, knowledge of an old jailhouse confession came to light in Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday (Jan 10). The District Attorney revealed that Yayo's co-defendant, Lowell Fletcher, told the Hip-Hop Police that it was he who slapped Rosemond's son and not Yayo.
According to the police statement: "Fletcher saw a young boy wearing a Czar Entertainment T-shirt. Fletcher further stated that he slapped the boy across the face and began to grab the boy's shirt. At this point Marvin Bernard (Yayo) exited the vehicle, tried to restrain him (Fletcher) and get him back in the vehicle."
Fletcher's statements to police were made in the absence of his attorney so it is unclear what value if any, the confession will have.
Though Yayo's lawyer Scott Leemon was "very troubled" by the violation of Fletcher's Constitutional right to council, he expressed his intent to appeal to have his client cleared. "They disclosed it today," Leemon said of the statement. "And we plan to file a motion for dismissal."
Rick Ross and Birdman Recording Album
Rick Ross has already been promising his upcoming Trilla to be "one of the best albums of '08," but the Slip-N-Slide/Def Jam blockbuster release, along with his upcoming Mi-Yayo DVD aren't the only things keeping the 30 year-old busy.
"Me and Birdman are working on an album and a movie at the same time," Ross told reporters yesterday from his traveling tour bus. "We just feed the streets. Me being a fan of the hustle - the grind, [Birdman and I] have the same attitude and hunger coming from streets. He feels the same about me, you already know. We just went in the studio for the hood."
Ross said that it was too early to confirm the project's title, label or release date, but said that 2008 was likely, after the release of his upcoming album - already backed by the single "Speedin'" and another effort from Carol City Cartel.
Kimora Lee Simmons Poses Nude For PETA
Kimora Lee Simmons will be the latest celebrity to pose nude in support of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
As part of the new “Be An Angel for Dogs” campaign spearheaded by PETA’s youth organization, peta2, Simmons appears holding her rescued dog Zoe , wearing nothing more than a pair of angel wings.
The campaign launches in print magazines this month to coincide with national Unchain a Dog Month. “Kimora was a delight to work with, the consummate professional and her compassion for dogs is a big part of her life,” PETA’s Director of Media Relations Michael McGraw told reporters. “She has rescued numerous dogs off the street and her message is an important one: never leave a dog chained outside. It’s important to bring them in and make them members of the family.”
Thanks to a $20,000 donation by Simmons, PETA also launched an initiative to support low-income families with dogs, providing weatherproof dog houses and emergency medical care the pets might not have received otherwise.
According to peta2, millions of dogs left chained and unattended in back yards across the country every day without the most basic care and exposed to extreme weather conditions.
“When you adopt a pet, it’s not just about can you bring it home,” said Simmons. “It’s about caring for it, vaccinations, getting it spayed or neutered. And I will help you with all of that, I tell people that all the time.
“It’s about education,” she continued. “You cannot just chain up an animal with no food, no water, no shelter, no bedding, no nothing. The chains are heavy. It’s cruel. They need to run and play in a yard. As a community, we need to help.”
Some of the most outspoken names in Hip-Hop have supported peta2’s efforts to raise young people’s awareness of issues relating to animal cruelty, including Russell Simmons, Dead Prez, Chuck D, and The Roots.
Peta2 provides teens and young adults with information about how to become active for animals, combining a web campaign that reaches close to 800,000 subscribers and a grassroots marketing campaign boasting 300,000 street team members.

Fat Joe Answers 50 Cent
Fat Joe recently paid a visit to BET's "RapCity," where he shared some choice words for 50 Cent and G-Unit and discussed the logic behind his new album title.
During his recent "Rap City" visit Joe responded to comments by 50 Cent, who took aim at the Bronx rapper during a previous "Rap City" show when questioned which five MC's he'd eliminate from the game.
"Fat Joe, he's not really tough," 50 said during the show. "He's the kind of guy who makes idle threats ... invites you to a fight and never shows up. My schedule has been on BET for the last two years and he still ain't run into me."
When it was his turn to address the comments, Joe seemed more than happy to keep the feud going, insulting 50 Cent and G-Unit, while boasting of his own success.
"This dude 50 Cent is a clown, we've been beefing what --three years?" Crack said. " I go to every club in New York City, every hood. Have you ever seen a G-Unit member in a club? The question was eliminate, he can't eliminate Fat Joe. Since I've been beefing with 50 Cent I've become so much richer in my life, so much more millions and keep dropping hit records. And my brother Khaled is dropping heavy records and We da Best and you see that movement. You can't stop us. We untouchable B."
Joe also used the "RapCity" appearance to explain the title of his upcoming project The Elephant In The Room, which will be his 8th solo album. While discussing the range of influence his recent hits have had on music, Joe also managed to slide in a few more shots at G-Unit.
"The elephant is in the room B," Joe told "RapCity" host Q-45. "Do you know the life span of an artist? Artists don't last no more than two albums. He come out, he a new sensation, he got a hot record. When he come out with the second album, he don't even have a hit, he's gone, similar to a Young Buck/Lloyd Banks situation. That's real talk, they outta here. I've been in the game for 14 years. I've been dropping so many hits. Do you know how hard it is for a guy to make a hit record every single time? This record right now is about to be #1 in the country. It's killin' them. You can't stop me. So my thing is why not give credit where credit is due?"
"If a dude keep bringing out number one records 'Make It Rain,'... 'Lean Back' made them 'Lean Wit it, Rock Wit It,' made em 'Shoulder Lean,' matter fact blame me for 'Pop, Lock and Drop It' cause 'Lean Back' started that. 'Make it Rain'..."Rihanna" had to talk about it, she had to get an umbrella. How many people you seen make it rain after a song like that? But they don't want to talk about Fat Joe like he's top ten. Elephant is in the Room, the Room is hip-hop!"
The Elephant In The Room will feature appearances from Diddy, Rick Ross, Fabolous and production from Scott Storch, Cool & Dre, DJ Khaled, Nate "Danja" Hills and The Runners. The project is expected to be released earlier this year.

Master P, Romeo Help Feed The Homeless In New Orleans
Master P and his son Romeo have recently helped feed the homeless on Christmas in Los Angeles, via the Food On Food organization.
Now, after donating money to the program, Master P and his son are taking it to their home city of New Orleans -- calling it Food On Foot N.O. (New Orleans).
The division in New Orleans will distribute balanced and nutritious meals to needy citizens, and also rehabilitate disadvantaged individuals and families through jobs and job training.
In addition to providing nourishment, Food on Foot N.O. will exist to give confidence and hope to those that have been through so much, so that they may eventually transition back into society, according to a press release.
"This is probably one of the best organizations I've ever been a part of," said Master P. "Food on Foot helps those in New Orleans that need it the most."
Nearly two-and-a-half years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city, many residents are still without homes and some are even living in tents or under bridges. Food on Foot N.O. aims to help get them fed and back on their feet.
Master P participated in a Food on Foot event in Los Angeles and was motivated by its founder, Jay Goldinger, to bring the organization to his hometown of New Orleans.

As previously reported, West, 58, died on Saturday, November 10, 2007 after complications from cosmetic surgery.
According to TMZ, the coroner's report says West died of "coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty."
The report could not state with certainty what exactly killed her but there was no evidence that anesthesia or even the surgery is to blame.
Donda was very close to her son. Kanye often spoke of her in his music, and dedicated the track "Hey Mama" to her off his second release, Late Registration. Chicago rapper, Rhymefest, said that Donda was like a mother and mentor to the entire circle.
"She was a mother to everybody ... We all came in the crib and she fed us when we had nothin', when there was no record deals. She brought us in," he said. "She was a mother for a community, and a mother for one of Chicago's greatest heroes."
Tony Yayo's Co-Defendant Reveals He Slapped Jimmy Henchman's Son
G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo (born Marvin Bernard) was in Manhattan Criminal Court this morning (Jan. 10) facing allegations that he struck the 14-year-old son of Czar Entertainment CEO Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond.
As previously reported, the rapper rejected a plea deal last year that would have sent him back to jail for nine months.
Yayo - who, along with G-Unit rapper 50 Cent has a longtime beef with Rosemond over his affiliation with The Game- arrived at approximately 9:45 a.m. wearing a dark grey button down, jeans and white air force ones. He was emotionless.
The New York District Attorney disclosed today that two members of the Hip Hop Police - Detectives Courtney Atkins and Kinely Williams interviewed Yayo's co-defendant Lawell Fletcher at the 13th Precinct the night of his arrest and at Rikers Island on August 8 (where he was being held on an unrelated drug charge). In those interviews Fletcher claimed that it was he who conducted the assault and that Yayo actually restrained him and pulled him off of the kid.
Fletcher was identified in a lineup by Henchmen's son.
Now the Assistant DA has until Jan. 18 to inform the defense whether or not they intend to use the statements and how.
"I am very troubled by The People's disclosure today that they would violate a defendant's (Fletcher) Constitutional rights to council and then bury the information when it helps somebody else," Yayo's lawyer, Scott Leemon, said. "I'm glad after a year of trying to get information like this that it was finally disclosed in court today. As I said from the beginning Yayo denied ever doing this. This is another witness that said he did not slap this boy."
Leemon has until Feb. 1 to file all motions including the motion to have separate trial.
All parties will meet with the judge again Feb 14.
In related news, the Staten Island home of Yayo's road manager, Barja Walter, was sprayed with bullets and firebombed in the wee hours of the morning on Jan. 8.
A firm trial date has been set for March 31.
Remy Ma's Court Date Postponed, Lawyer Calls Out Sick
Remy Ma's hearing in Manhattan Criminal court was put off this morning until Jan. 17 because the rapper's lawyer, Ivan Fisher, called in sick.
Remy (born Remy Smith) was scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing today, after being accused of shooting long-time associate Makeda Barnes- Joseph twice in the abdomen. Remy maintains her innocence in the crime.
Barnes-Joseph was shot last July outside a New York club after she and Remy both attended a mutual friend's party. The incident was allegedly sparked when Rem discovered $2,000 missing from her purse and accused Barnes-Joseph of stealing the money.
In addition to Remy's criminal case, the shooting victim has Rem on the hook for $80 mil. in a civil lawsuit naming the rapper, Universal Music Group and others who play a major role in Rem's career.
Barnes-Joseph alleges the label is responsible for encouraging the rapper's violent behavior.
Barnes-Joseph originally filed the suit seeking $20 million dollars on Dec. 26, but has since upped the amount.
Fisher called the suit a publicity stunt and said Barnes-Joseph is looking for the deepest pockets she can find.
Wyclef Jean Being Sued For Copyright Infringement
Brooklyn rapper, Blahz, recently revealed via an appearance on The Wendy Williams radio show that he has filed a lawsuit in the Manhattan U.S. District Court against Wyclef Jean for copyright infringement, claiming the rapper allegedly sampled one of his past songs without permission.
Blahz (real name: Martell Ellis) claims that Wyclef sampled his 1996 chart topping single, "Danger," for the first single from his latest album Carnival 2 called "Welcome To The East."
In the lawsuit, Wyclef and Sony BMG are both named, and both parties are expected to receive litigation papers this week.
Although the amount Blahz is seeking remains unknown, Wendy Williams speculated that the rapper is seeking $50 million in punitive damages.
He did not deny or confirm Williams' guess, but did say he is seeking "a lucrative sum."
In a released statement regarding the suit, Blahz said that he felt compelled to take legal action to send the message to major labels and "big name" artists that lesser known acts shouldn't be taken advantage of.
"Being a part of the music industry over the past decade has been a rewarding experience, but I've also witnessed, first-hand, artists such as myself getting taken advantage of and legally violated by record labels and 'big name' artists alike -- not to mention commercial artists constantly stealing from the underground," said the rapper. "I was left with no choice but to move forward with my decision to take full legal action against Wyclef Jean, and Sony BMG, on behalf of myself and the all the artists around the world who have been the victim of blatant disrespect."
According to the rapper, since he has went public with his lawsuit, he has received overwhelming support from various artists across the country -- including The Beatnuts, whose sample from their "Off The Hook" single was sampled on J Lo's "Jenny From the Block," single, yet no credit or monetary compensation was given in return.
"A message has to be delivered to the music industry that these unjust common business practices can't be ignored or swept under the rug anymore," Blahz added.

“Diplomat Records is poppin’ right now,” he told Kay Slay. “We gonna have Diplomat Immunity 3 a.k.a. The Forefathers coming out…Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana. Freeky. The forefathers.”
This news comes on the heels of well-publicized rumors about the rift between Cam’ron and Jim Jones.

Beanie Sigel Sentenced To 1 Day In Federal Prison
Beanie Sigel has been sentenced to 1 day in federal prison and has had his probation extended by 18 months by U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick.
According to the AP, a judge handed down the sentence to Sigel today (Jan. 9) after he was convicted of a second probation violation by taking an unauthorized trip to Atlantic City and being in contact with a convicted felon.
The first six month of his new probation term will be served in a halfway house. Beanie's original probation on earlier charges was slated to end next month.
"I'm human, but I'm working on my mistakes," he told Surrick.
"If they're looking at you as a role model, you've got to do the right thing," Surrick said.
The Judge had the option of sending Sigel back to prison for as long as nine months.
The new probation terms will not allow Sigel to travel and promote his new album "The Solution".
Prodigy Hospitalized, Jail Bid Delayed
Mobb Deep frontman Prodigy was scheduled to go to jail yesterday (Jan. 8) on gun charges but caught a break from Manhattan Supreme Court which allowed him five more weeks of freedom.
Prodigy (born Albert Johnson) was due to begin a 3-1/2-year bid in state prison, after being caught with a loaded, unregistered .22-caliber gun in his $150,000 bulletproof SUV in 2006.
But because the 33 year-old rapper is plagued with sickle cell disease - a life-long, genetic, incurable blood disorder that can lead to organ damage and stroke among other problems -- Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin decided to give Prodigy's doctors 30 days to assemble his medical records. The rapper may be assigned to a prison with easy access to medical treatment, according to New York's Daily News.
Prodigy's lawyer, Irving Cohen, said his client has been in and out of hospitals his entire life.
Prodigy was fully prepared to begin his sentence yesterday. He told reporters that he recorded videos for each song on his forthcoming album, H.N.I.C. 2, set up a social networking site where his fans can interact with each other and posted his prison address so fans can hit him up while he's behind bars.
Trial Date Set in The Game’s Weapons Case
The Game’s trial on various weapons and assault related charges is scheduled to begin on February 4.
According to TMZ.com, an L.A. County Superior Court judge set the date during a hearing earlier today. The judge has also scheduled a hearing for January 22, during which he will decide if the LAPD is in contempt of court for failing to return $44,000 that was confiscated from the rapper.
In June, the Black Wall Street CEO was charged with possession of a firearm in a school zone, exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility for minors and making criminal threats. The charges stem from a February 24, 2006 incident during a pickup basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in L.A. He later plead not guilty to all charges.
If convicted, the LA native will face up to five years in prison. According to TMZ, the $44,000 was confiscated during the course of the investigation and the LAPD has refused to return the money. The LAPD has refused to comment citing the ongoing investigation.
Remy Ma Hit With $80 Mil Lawsuit By Alleged Shooting Victim
A day before a scheduled court appearance in her assault trial, Remy Ma has been hit with an $80 million lawsuit by her alleged shooting victim, Makeda Barnes-Joseph.
As previously reported, the rapper born Remy Smith was originally slapped with a $20 million lawsuit on Dec. 26. Now the Village Voice claims that Remy will be hit with an $80 million civil suit. This comes just a day before Remy is set to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing related to the gun incident last July that is said to have begun over a missing $2,000.
The Village Voice received a press release from Lauren P. Raysor, the lawyer of shooting victim, Makeda Barnes-Joseph. In it, Raysor accuses Remy of shooting Joseph twice in the abdomen, resulting in wounds that have led to three surgeries and weekly hospital visits.
Raysor said "Only by pursuing those who we believe are legally responsible for this vicious and callous act of violence, can we hope to put an end to this senseless cycle of violence that is glorified by Hip-Hop marketing."
Remy's lawyer, Ivan Fisher, called the lawsuit a publicity stunt.
Fisher said Joseph's decision to file a civil suit before the actual criminal case is sure to leave Remy victorious. "I'm very glad that she's filed this thing because it represents a position she is taking factually that is inaccurate and is showed to be inaccurate. The civil suit is beneficial to us. It shows someone trying to profit for an incident that she was at least in part responsible."
Joseph's attorney stands by her client's innocence, saying, "Makeda Barnes-Joseph is clearly the victim, yet Mr. Fisher and Remy Ma continue to make statements that they know will prejudice the jury pool. He has tried to portray Remy Ma as the victim, which is laughable."

Benzino & Dave Mays Speak On Elliot Wilson's Firing
Former Source bosses Benzino & Dave Mays are sound off on the firing of Elliot Wilson from his post as editor-in-chief at XXL magazine.
Mays and Benzino spoke exclusively to Mahogany Girl about the firing.
"It's no coincidence that Elliot's firing
comes just a few weeks before the impending
launch of MONSTA magazine, which will introduce
the world to a new blueprint for the monthly magazine,
a more advanced format that delivers exciting, relevant
and informative content to the new generation of hip hop
fans. Elliot's firing signals the end to an old-fashioned way
of publishing magazines that is no longer viable, which explains
why all of the current monthly mags—from XXL to The Source
to Vibe—are struggling in continuing to try to operate in a
way that doesn't work in the new age of media and of hip hop.
Benzino and I are pioneering a new approach to hip hop
magazine publishing which—given the impact of Hip Hop Weekly
in just its first year—is already proving itself; we are extremely
excited to show the world our new vision when MONSTA
magazine debuts on newsstands at the
beginning of next month!"
"Karma is a muthafucka!!!...
The little bitch should have been let go years
ago if you ask me... When I heard about this I thought it
was beautiful...He (Elliot Wilson) doesn't represent Hip Hop or
the culture anyway. XXL and all the editors over there are just
a copy cat of The Source and now them, Source and Vibe are
feeling the fucking pinch....Now Yellow Nigga can go get a job
sucking fucking Jimmy Iovine since that's what he was
doing anyway...G Unit is over and so is Elliot. If I see
him in the streets I'ma put a foot in his ass..
I'ma do that for Hip Hop..."
Dave Mays and Benzino will launch a new monthly magazine called MONSTA in February. The two have already launched the new "Hip-Hop Weekly" publication.
Joe Budden In Talks With Shady Records
Undisclosed sources close to Shady Records have revealed that Eminem's label is in talks of signing Jersey City, New Jersey rapper Joe Budden. The move might be shocking to some, as Budden is remembered for lyrically sparring with then-Shady-related artists in the past such as 50 Cent and The Game.
With the release of his Mood Muzik 3 at the close of 2007, Budden attacked Def Jam and its then-president Jay-Z for holding the rapper's career back. Subsequently, Budden was released from contract after being since to the label for over six years shortly before Jay-Z left. Despite three acclaimed mixtapes, the aforementioned last of which will be sold in retail stores through Amalgam Entertainment, Budden has not released an album since 2003's self-titled release which reached gold status.
If a deal does go through with Shady, Budden will be an established label acquisition, joining 50 Cent and The Alchemist. In the past, Shady had courted signing both Mobb Deep and Pharoahe Monch, but failed to reach agreement. Talks of the deal will likely be halted to yesterday's reported hospitalization of Eminem.
Ohio Group Accuses Soulja Boy Of Stealing Their Song
Ohio based group, the Ohio Boyz, are accusing popular teen rapper Soulja Boy of ripping off one of their songs.
According to the group, it started on MySpace approximately a year ago when a girl close to Soulja Boy told the rapper about one of the group's songs on their Myspace page, which they claim he came, listened to and gave them props for.
As of press time, a comment was posted on group member T. Peezy's Myspace page from Soulja Boy in January 2007 in which he said that he liked their music.
Since then, the Ohio Boyz claim Soulja Boy has been biting their style -- first by wearing his Evisu pants backwards (which they say he saw them do), then by calling himself "S. Beezy," confusing similar to one of the group member's names -- "T. Peezy."
"Recently [Soulja Boy has] been going by the alias 'S. Beezy' ... sounds kinda similar [to] 'T. Peezy'," the group said. "These are way too many coincidences. He's been jockin'."
Despite letting the small similarities go, the group said they had the last straw when Soulja Boy stole one of their songs. The Ohio Boyz claim that about a month ago, Soulja Boy leaked a new song by the name of "Swag," a song the group says they have had on their MySpace page for months.
"He had basically tweaked the beat and had the exact hook on [his version]," the Ohio Boyz said. "We've had the song on our page for months."
After hearing the plagiarism, the group attempted to contact Soulja Boy regarding the track, but to date, he has denied their allegations, and even responded via a comment on their Myspace page.
"I never heard of ya'll n----s in my life, or your 'Swag' song," Soulja Boy wrote on December 13, 2007. "I swear to God I never even heard that sh-- on ya'll page. Kill that noise."
This isn't the first time the 17-year-old rapper has been accused of stealing. In October 2007, Mo Thugs group member Souljah Boy with an "h" accused the rapper of taking his name, which he has had for nearly 12 years.
Soulja Boy's rep said, at the time of the accusation, that although they have not been contacted about the name confusion, the teen rapper's name is technically Soulja Boy Tell 'Em.
Barja Walters home was shot up by unknown attackers this morning at 4:45 a.m. It is said that multiple shots were fired at the home and a Molotov cocktail was thrown on the lawn while Walters wife and three children were inside the home sleeping.
A similar incident occurred in April 2007 when Yayo's mother's home was fired upon while several people were inside.
"But the new album, man, this is an important piece for me," Nas told MTV. "I'm proud of myself for doing it and taking it on. It looks like Black History Month [February] is gonna be the month to drop the album. If not, it comes when it comes. But it'll be here soon — soon like right-around-the-corner soon. It's not gonna be a waiting-for-a-long-time type thing. I'm blessed to be in this state of mind I'm in to do this music. ... I love what this whole thing is all about. I'm working with so many people. It is a lot of people I'm working with: Puff, Jermaine [Dupri], some underground cats. Some surprises."
Snoop Dogg is one MC who isn't afraid to support Nas in this project.
"I'm down with you, Nas," Snoop noted. "Call me if you need a verse."
"I'm totally open to working with him," said Ice Cube. "I just got back in town, I'm looking for him to reach out. I think me and Nas are, in a lot of ways, mirror images of each other. We try to make street knowledge and connect the streets with the politics of today. That's always a challenge. If we don't get together [on his album], we gotta tour together."

Prodigy Reports To Jail A Day Early, Talks "Sex Tape"
Despite reports that Prodigy was due to begin serving his sentence tomorrow, the Queensbridge emcee actually reported at around 11 a.m. this morning.
In preparation for the big day Prodigy was hard at work creating awareness for his forthcoming album, H.N.I.C. 2. "I shot a video for every song on the album so I have all my videos in the can before I go in. [I'm] just doing all my press now, magazine, internet sh-t, radio just making sure I knock everything out, as much as I can before I go in," he said.
In addition, Prodigy built a social networking site called hnic2.com where he and his fans can interact with one another. "People can get on there and create their own profiles just like MySpace, load up pictures and videos and blogs and you can see my pictures and my videos and my blogs."
One of the more recent videos that Prodigy decided to share with his fans was the video of his new year's hotel room romp with his wife. P explains that he was using a phone provided by a company called Kyte which allows you to produce multimedia shows in real-time from your mobile phone.
"We were just having fun," he said. "Me and my wife went to go hang out on new years and we were just using the phone, f**king around, having fun. We decided to tease the world with a little something. It was in good taste, we ain't into doing no porno or nothing like that. We don't need to put sh*t like a porno or a sex tape to make a name for ourselves. We already got a name for ourselves."
Prodigy encourages fans to keep logging on to his site for updates. "I'm leaving my address up there so when I'm locked up fans can write me letters. Basically just keeping people informed on what's going on with Prodigy and Mobb Deep while I'm not here.
Lil Wayne Sued by Car Customizer over ‘99 Bentley
A California based car customizer has filed suit against Lil Wayne over the rapper’s alleged non-payment for parts and services for a burgundy 1999 Bentley Arnage.
According to website thesmokinggun.com, who attained a copy of the suit, LeMarck deAndre of The Wall Street Group claims that Weezy paid him $78,507 in August of 2006, some ten months after the payment was initially due.
The plaintiff asserts that since the payment was late, the rapper had breached the initial customization contract, prompting deAndre to terminate the transaction altogether. The customizer then demanded additional payment to cover the cost of parts already ordered and the expense of shipping the vehicle back to Wayne.
After initially refusing to pay the charges, Weezy finally entered into a new agreement with the deAndre that would cover the cost of parts, shipment and storage of the vehicle. In the suit, deAndre asserts that the rapper has now breached the second contract by failing to pay storage fees of $79,200.
The suit asks that the court award deAndre the $79,200 sum, including an additional $200 per day since Novermber 1, plus attorney fees.
Original Recordings of Bob Marley & Peter Tosh Missing
A large collection of 70s music, including original recordings by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and others is missing from the archives of the former Jamaica Broadcasting Corp.
According to Billboard.com, thousands of vinyl records and compact discs have gone missing in the possible theft.
Musicians and former employees of the Broadcasting Corporation are outraged.
"The latest development is a national disgrace," said Gladstone Wilson, former program manager for JBC radio.
Workers of the new Public Broadcasting Corp. of Jamaica noticed the material missing last week when they went searching for it to use on their first programs.
The archives included such important material as video of Bob Marley's 1978 "One Love Peace Concert".

Yung Joc Sets The Record Straight On His Recent Gun Charge Arrest
Atlanta rapper Yung Joc recently took time out to explain what really happened with his airport gun charge, his connection to the T.I. informant, and why his last album, Hustlenomics, wasn't better received.
As previously reported, the rapper (born Jasiel Robinson) is currently embroiled in a weapons case. Joc was nabbed at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport last month when he tried to pass through security with a gun in his bag.
Joc said, he was completely caught off guard.
"I wasn't aware of what was going on," he told reporters. "I looked up and the folks in the airport was like hey ... everybody backed up. I'm trying to figure out, what the hell?" [See Below]
Later, he missed an arraignment, arriving seven hours late. Joc said that his lawyer first told him he wouldn't need to appear, and then his flight was delayed.
Media outlets reported the rapper was a fugitive.
"It looked like I had no regard for the judicial system," Joc said. "It made it look like here's another arrogant @$$ celebrity who thinks because he got some status he gon' do what the hell he wanna do."
While Joc's confident he'll be redeemed, he expressed condolences for friend and fellow Atlanta rapper T.I.'s current legal problems.
Tip is facing weapons charges for allegedly attempting to buy machine guns and silencers from an undercover agent in a drug store parking lot. The informant who helped the feds set T.I. up was a former security guard for Joc and his label, Block Entertainment. Joc said the guy was a negligent employee and he fired him.
Joc also refuted claims that he had anything to do with T.I. taking a fall.
"I read some articles that said, he tried to sell me weapons and I told him some sh-t about what I needed guns for ... That's some bullsh-t. I aint never talk to him about no sh-t like that," Joc said. "I would never do nothing like that. I ain't no snitch."
About Hustlenomics, Joc said the first single off the album, "Coffee Shop," didn't really connect with his core audience.
"I thought they wanted to hear something a little more club and a little more ghetto, something a little more to ride to," he said.
He tried to give the people what they wanted with the second single "Bottle Poppin," but by that time Lil' Wayne was "Poppin Bottles" of his own. "That's a good record as well," he said.
The rapper has high hopes for the third single off Hustlenomics, though, entitled "I'm A G," featuring Bun B and Young Dro. He recently shot a video for the track.
Joc's currently in the studio working on his third album.
REP FOR VIVICA FOX DENIES SEX TAPE
Vivica A. Fox's camp is denying that she is involved in a sex tape currently making its rounds on the Internet.
Last week, Atlanta blogger Sandra Rose reported that local radio personality, Porsche Foxx, "confirmed that her close friend Vivica Fox appears in a controversial sex tape." However, Fox's manager, Lita Richardson, tells New York Daily News column Rush & Malloy, "It's not true," without saying what part of the report she was disputing.
As previously reported, Rose said the footage was secretly recorded by the man in the video, then reportedly e-mailed to his friends. The clip was eventually e-mailed to Fox, who promptly sought advice from "a friend at the Atlanta Police Department."
Atlanta police spokesman James Polite told Rush & Malloy: "At this time, we have no formal complaint from Miss Fox."
"If it was something that was consensual, we're not looking at a crime, per se," Polite added. "If the [boyfriend] is trying to extort Miss Fox, that's when we begin to look at a criminal element."

Ice Cube Says Blaming Gangsta Rap Is ''An Easy Solution''
As the godfather of gangsta rap, Ice Cube helped to shape a movement that challenged norms and brought forgotten issues to light. In this report, the rapper, actor and film director tells us about his new crime comedy, First Sunday, personal responsibility vs. organized religion, and why so many people are jumping on the "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It" bandwagon.
"It's an easy solution, you know, it's an easy target," Cube said about blaming gangsta rap for society's problems, which he satirizes in the video for his new lead single, "Gangsta Rap made Me Do It."
"Gangsta rap usually talks about the good, the bad and the ugly of what really happens, every day, not no made-up stuff," he said. "Even the lyrics that are just more or less kind of comic book style are coming from a real place. We just kind of tell it like it is ... so we get blamed. It's like blaming the messenger, or blaming the mirror because you're ugly. You're gonna get nowhere doing that."
The former N.W.A member says he believes in personal responsibility, not blaming decisions on a song.
"People do what they want to do, when they want to do it, how they want to do it, regardless of what they've seen and heard," he said. "Everybody knows right from wrong, I don't care how crazy you are."
"Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It" is the lead single off Cube's lastest album, Raw Footage, a "strictly for the Ice Cube fans" joint slated to drop this summer.
"It's strictly for the mature, intelligent hip-hop fans who want it how they used to get it," he said. "I'm not really expecting no commercial success off this record at all. It's dope lyrics, dope beats. No gimmicks, no bullsh*t. Keepin' it real."
Cube will take a slightly more lighthearted approach on First Sunday, the new crime comedy due in theatres next Friday (Jan. 11), which he will star in alongside Katt Williams, Tracy Morgan and Regina Hall. Despite the title, the flick is not a continuation of Cube's hugely popular Friday franchise, but a story about two partners in crime who decide to rob a church and learn some unexpected lessons in the process.
"The movie's really funny ... but it's also making a social statement on what churches are to the community," he said. "If somebody would rob a church, evidently they don't respect it for some reason. So that right there is speakin' to a real issue that churches are dealing with today - apathy amongst young people, especially males, going to church."
When it comes to religion, Cube, who just launched an Internet network at uvntv.com with DJ Pooh, said he believes in a higher power, but that's where the devotion ends.
"I don't really care for religion," he said. "To me it's a big mess ... I believe in God, and everything else to me is bullsh*t. I ain't tryin to dis what people are doing, but when you know right from wrong, that's all you need to know."

Dr. Dre Unveils New Headphones Line
Super producer Dr. Dre introduced a line of high-end headphones via a partnership with Monster Cable Products and Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine at the Consumer Electronics Show tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday's (January 6).
The cable manufacturer unveiled the Beats By Dr. Dre headphones, which introduced a newly developed driver technology, created to allow people to hear music the way Dr. Dre would in the studio.
"When I'm making a track, I'm trying to capture the sound that makes me go 'now THAT's the sh--!" explained the producer. "And I want that reaction from everybody who hears it. I spend a lot of time in the studio listening to my music through headphones... with Beats, people are finally going to hear it the way they should: the way I do."
According to Interscope head, Jimmy Iovine, the headphones have been in the works for a while now, and when the pair found a partner in Monster, Dre's vision was brought to reality.
"Dre and I have been developing these headphones for a while and in Monster we found a partner that could work with us to crystallize his vision and develop them to the quality level he expects," said Iovine. "Beats By Dr. Dre is yet another example of Interscope's commitment to working together with its artists in developing new avenues to experience music."
"Dr. Dre is widely-known as the most critical ear in music today. This rare partnership with such an iconic artist is a testament to the both the need for high-performance headphones and the singular quality of Beats. Listening to music with Beats headphones is a true 'ear opening' experience; users will enjoy not only their comfort and style, but their sonic performance that is unequalled in any other headphone," added Noel Lee, Head Monster.
