Yayo To Play KRS

Tony Yayo refers to himself as G-Unit’s “bad guy” and in the upcoming Juice Crew movie, “The Vapors,” the rapper will fittingly play the legendary outfit’s nemesis, KRS-One.

“They came to me about playing the part of KRS-One,” Yayo explained to XXL “So I was honored to even hear that.”
In a recent interview the Blastmaster confirmed Yayo would be tackling the role of the Boogie Down Productions front man in the film. The lyrical icon went toe-to-to with the Juice Crew’s MC Shan throughout the late ’80s and said he was sure he’d be portrayed as a villain in the film.

“Of course, and I hope they do,” he said. “I was a villain. It was no joke and that’s what it was.” Yayo said his foray into Hollywood is a part of his plans to grow as an entrepreneur. “I want to make my own [moves], ” he said. “I’m looking towards movies right now. I’m working with people you wouldn’t even believe.”

50 Cent Talks Olivia, And Mayweather Jr., With Hot 97

50 Cent is everywhere these days. A day doesn't go by without him being in the news, and it's timed perfectly since a new G-Unit album is on its way.

Most recently, he showed up at Hot 97 to talk to Angie Martinez during her show, and spoke a little about singer Olivia's departure from the label.

50 explained that Missy got into the way with Olivia's project and caused problems, and then things never worked out. "She went to work with Missy and it got kinda crazy like," 50 Cent said with a smirk. "It got crazy because Missy was trying to own her a little bit... I think Missy hit that."

Angie was shocked to hear the comment, and everyone in the studio had a laugh, before 50 further explained some of the sacrifices he made for the singer.

"I feel like even down to the 'I'll Whip Your Head Boy' on the 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin'' soundtrack, I went into a different direction because I was trying to save the Olivia project," he explained. "I went for 'Best Friend' and had [Olivia] create a remix to it, and played that version and shot a video for it, when 'I'll Whip Your Head Boy' was already going. In the club, that was their choice.

"I'm like 'I'm a million in on this project, so let me get this off, and right after you come off 'Best Friend', you can drop your single and we can just go from there," 50 continued.

However, the formula didn't work, as everyone already knows. Today, he questions the decision he made, admitting he may take Jay-Z approach to helping fellow artists next time.

"I made so many sacrifices based on people I brought around. I need to take a page outta Jay'z book because he don't compromise himself at all for them," said 50.

According to 50, he and Olivia haven't spoken since she left the label.

50 Cent also went on record about the rumored fight with his friend-boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr., who he said he punched when the two got into an argument over money.

The G-Unit founder explained that the two got into a minor argument when 50 told Mayweather he should pay him for telling the press that he would escort him to the ring during his recent bout with the Big Show at Wrestlemania, without consulting him first.

According to Fif, Mayweather refused, and a couple of punches were thrown -- he hit Floyd and the boxer hit him back -- before friends around them broke it up. Despite the scuffle, they are still friends, and Floyd has even agreed to pay him.

It might be quiet on the 50 Cent news front for about a week. The rapper and G-Unit are currently in Australia touring through May 4.

The upcoming G-Unit album, Terminate On Sight, is now due July 1.

Foxy Brown Accepts Plea Deal, Avoids Jail Time

Foxy Brown avoided jail time today (April 24) by accepting a state plea deal for her role in a scuffle at a Florida beauty shop last year.

As reported earlier, Brown was arrested at Florida's Queen Beauty Supply shop in February 2007 for allegedly throwing hair glue at a store employee.

She was also accused of spitting on the store employee and struggling with an officer who wanted to question her about the incident.

According to The Miami Herald, Brown will have to serve six months probation, perform 15 hours of community service and write apology letters to the store owner and the employee.

Also as part of the deal, Brown will have to enroll in an anger management course and pay court costs and fines.

Brown's initial lawyer in the case, Fred Haddad, resigned from the case yesterday (April 23) because he didn't want the Brooklyn bred rapper to take the plea deal and was ready to go to trial.

Due to Haddad's resignation, Brown was told by a judge to return to court on May 8th with a new lawyer but the rapper promptly found a replacement to take the plea deal.

Brown was released from New York's Rikers Correctional Facility last week after serving eight months for violating probation.

Prior to be being tossed in jail, Brown would allegedly hit her neighbor with a Blackberry phone during an argument. She is expected back in a New York court on May 5th to face the charges from that incident.

T.I. Banned By Atlanta Schools

Two metro Atlanta school districts have reportedly banned T.I. from making an appearance in their schools to speak to students.

As reported earlier, the Atlanta bred rapper plead guilty to various weapons charges last month as part of a plea deal to avoid trial.

Under the agreement, T.I. was ordered to spend at least 1,000 hours over the next year speaking against drugs, guns and gangs to “at-risk youth”.

According to WBSTV, Cobb County school officials said Wednesday (April 23) that T.I. was not allowed to visit their schools because of recent gang problems and the death of a student.

Fulton County school officials said T.I. is banned from their schools because of his conviction on the gun charges.

If T.I. fulfills the obligations of the community service, he will only receive a year and a day behind bars when he is sentenced in March 2009.

If he doesn’t abide by the plea agreement and fails to stay out of trouble, he faces up to over 3 years behind bars.

G-Unit, The Game's Albums Pushed Back

A showdown was set for 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew versus The Game come June 24th, when their albums were due in stores.

That, however, won't take place any longer.

Earlier this week, 50 Cent told MTV that he planned to push the release date of The Game's third album, Los Angeles Times (LAX), back to make room for the release of G-Unit's second album, Terminate On Sight, claiming he still has control over the Compton rapper's career.

"I'mma wait a little, then I'm just gonna push his album back," 50 told MTV. "I don't think there's anyone that would legitimately look at him like it's a competition, him versus G-Unit."

However, that is now irrelevant now, since both of the albums have been moved back to separate dates.

Interscope confirmed that the new release dates will be July 1 for the G-Unit, while The Game's forthcoming album is set for July 8.

Treach Questioned, Detained In New Jersey Following Shooting

Treach, known in the hip-hop world as the frontman for group Naughty By Nature, was detained and questioned on Tuesday (April 22) in New Jersey after multiple shooting took place throughout the city.

Local police said they stopped a dark Hummer Tuesday afternoon driving erratically, which was driven by the rapper (real name: Anthony Criss).

When pulled over, police discovered Treach was wearing a bulletproof vest. However, no weapons were found in the vehicle, but one was recovered nearby.

It wasn't clear if the rapper is a suspect or if he is being held any longer.

Just in the past 24-hour period, New Jersey Police said that two men shot and killed each other, while five other were wounded.

In addition, a 27-year-old man was arrested for shooting a police sergeant, as well as two other shootings that the man committed within a five minute time frame.

Snoop Dogg Inks Production Deal with Extreme Music

Extreme Music, a subsidiary of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, today (April 23) announced that Snoop Dogg will executive produce a multi-CD series called The G Series for the company.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The G Series will include music crafted by Snoop for film, TV and commercial projects that are connected with Extreme Music.

Extreme Music has been involved in movies like I Am Legend and American Gangster.

“When we decided to produce an urban series, we wanted it to be not only major league but also 200% 'G,' with Snoop holding the reins,” said Russell Emanuel, co-CEO of Extreme Music.

The first installment of The G Series is expected to hit shelves this fall.

Foxy Brown Lands Back In Court For Florida Scuffle, Rapper's Lawyer Resigns From Case

Barley a week after she was released from a New York jail for violating probation, Foxy Brown appeared in a Florida Court today (April 23) to face assault charges stemming from a scuffle in a local beauty shop last year.

As reported earlier, Brown was arrested at Florida's Queen Beauty Supply shop in February 2007 for allegedly throwing hair glue at a store employee. She was also accused of spitting on the store employee and struggling with an officer who wanted to question her about the incident.

According to CBS 4, Brown's appearance in court Wednesday was supposed to be a status hearing but the Brooklyn bred rapper tried to work out a plea deal with the State Attorney without using her local attorney.

Due to that, Brown’s attorney resigned from the case and the judge gave the rapper two weeks to find a new attorney and return to court on May 8th.

Last week, Brown was released from New York's Rikers Correctional Facility after serving eight months for violating probation.

Brown was on probation for attacking two manicurists at a nail salon in 2004 but the rapper would be thrown in jail after skipping anger management classes and failing to get the court’s consent before traveling outside New York.

Prior to be being tossed in jail, Brown would allegedly hit her neighbor with a Blackberry phone during an argument. She is expected back in a New York court on May 5th to face the charges from that incident.

Judge Rejects C-Murder's Travel Request

A Louisiana judge yesterday (April 22) shot down C-Murder’s request to travel to Jackson , Mississippi this weekend.

C- Murder is awaiting retrial on a second-degree murder charge in the 2002 killing of sixteen year old Steve Thomas, who was shot in the chest during a brawl in the defunct Platinum Club in Louisiana.

In the past, Judge Martha Sassone has allowed C-Murder to leave New Orleans to promote his books but according to The Associated Press, Sassone declined the rapper's latest request after meeting privately with his lawyer and the district attorney.

The reason behind C-Murder's travel request was not given but it is speculated that he wanted to be a part of a youth rally called “Hip-Hop & Books” which will take place in Jackson this weekend.

C-Murder has been under house arrest since he was released on bond in March 2006, after the Louisiana Supreme Court overturned his murder conviction and accepted his request for a new trial.

His second trial is scheduled to take place on June 9th.

Nigger Is Coming.......

"Nigger" must really be coming because Nas is in full promo mode.

Along with dropping the Lead single
yesterday , and preforming songs from the album at Syracuse this past weekend, it appears God's Son is making the interview rounds.

HHDX just recently ran an interview that Nas had with King magazine where he reveled some interesting things.

Cleared up rumors that Def Jam was going to drop him because of the title of his album.

“Somebody told me that (one) about me getting dropped,” he says. “That sounds funny, though. I guess that just stays a rumor. But I enjoy those rumors too, because that means there’s fear."

Said His problem with Tiger Woods is not because he is married to a white woman, but for not sticking up for himself

"Tiger Woods standing up for this white lady who said something about him being lynched is a coon move to me,” Nas explains. "God bless the brother. I like to see him doing his thing, but that’s a flaw in his character. That’s an issue I would have with Tiger Woods; not who he is married to.”

Revealed that "The Message" was actually a diss towards Biggie, not 'Pac

“On a song I did on my second album, Tupac thought it was about him, but it was really towards Biggie,” he says of “The Message” off of It Was Written. “From the first lines all the way to, 'One life, one love, there can only be one king.' That was specifically going in that direction. The whole fucking song, really. Tupac was not even on my radar for going at him.”

And the most interesting revelation is that Biggie called Nas and asked him to help him take on 'Pac

“He said, ‘Let’s get together.’ He said that everyone was a little nervous about it, but he was calling me about getting busy...”

Also that "Nigger" has been pushed back until July 1st.

50 Cent Plans To Push Back The Game's Album

The upcoming albums from G-Unit and The Game are currently slated to drop on the same date but 50 Cent recently revealed that he plans to push back the third solo album from his Los Angles based foe.

The Game's third album titled L.A.X. and G-Unit's sophomore group album Terminate On Sight are scheduled to hit shelves on June 24th.

“I'mma wait a little, then I'm just gonna push his album back,” 50 Cent divulged to MTV News. “I don't think there's anyone that would legitimately look at him like it's a competition, him versus G-Unit. It just doesn't make sense. I make money every time he releases an album. He signed a five-album deal. He's only on album three.”

50 also revealed that he is concerned that people may turn the Game vs. G-Unit battle into a West Coast/East Coast beef.

Nelly's latest album, Brass Knuckles, will also be hitting shelves on June 24th

As reported earlier, prior to releasing Terminate On Sight, G-Unit will be releasing a Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama.

There was speculation that artists from the South including T .I. and Young Jeezy would be featured on the project but 50 Cent shot that talk down,

“I don't have the time or energy to get artists [from the] outside to feature on freestyles,” 50 explained. “You get to that point. Remember, I said to you everybody appears cool. They're in competition.”
