According to Reuters, Lil Wayne's often delayed Rebirth album was accidentally shipped to 500 Amazon customers this week despite the fact that Cash money records had changed the album's release date.
Last week, Wayne's label (Cash Money/Universal) announced to retailers and rap news outlets that Rebirth would not be hitting stores on December 21st but on February 2nd, 2010.
Unfortunately, someone at Amazon didn't get that message and 500 customers who had pre-ordered Rebirth got their copies of the album in their mailboxes this week.
Amazon has not yet released a comment on the mishap. Lil Wayne's camp has also chosen not to comment on the mix-up.
Sources close to Wayne's camp believe that new material will be added to the official version of Rebirth that will be released in February.
