Kanye West has asked the public to give R&B singer Chris Brown a 'break'.
According to Reuters, the rapper made his plea during the taping of his VH1 Storytellers episode earlier this month in Los Angeles.
Brown has been heavily scrutinized by the media and the public since he was arrested earlier this month for assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna.
"Can't we give Chris a break? I know I make mistakes in life," Kanye said.
The rapper's plea was reportedly met with applause and he also defended pop star Michael Jackson and Olympian swimmer Michael Phelps who made headlines earlier this year after being photographed smoking marijuana.
"Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing ... He's a real f---in' person; he makes mistakes," Kanye said.
"O.J. Simpson, amazing. Is he not?," the rapper added. "What he did, when he did, what he did. Was he not amazing though?"
Kanye also took time out to take shots at Thom Yorke, the front man of rock band Radiohead.
Kanye claims that he idolizes the band and that he was hurt that Yorke snubbed him backstage at The Grammy awards earlier this month. So in retaliation, the rapper revealed he ‘sat the fuck down” when the band took the stage.
Bill Flanagan, the executive producer of VH1 Storytellers, said that some of the comments West made wont make the show airs later this month.

A New York judge ruled on February 24th that a handgun found in Lil Wayne's tour bus can be used as evidence at his trial.
A 40 caliber handgun was found on Wayne’s tour bus by New York police in July 2007 following a performance at Manhattan’s Beacon Theatre.
A police officer testified at a pre-trial hearing last year that she boarded the bus because she smelled marijuana and claimed she saw Lil Wayne trying to hide something in a bag. She said when she looked inside the bag she found the handgun.
Lil Wayne was slapped with a felony charge of gun-possession. His lawyer has argued that the gun did not belong to the rapper and that the officer falsely claimed she smelled marijuana so she could board the bus illegally.
According to The Associated Press, Judge Charles Solomon also set April 20th as the trial date for Lil Wayne's case.
Wayne has pleaded not guilty to the gun charge. If convicted, he may face up to three and a half years in prison due to New York’s strict gun laws.
An Atlanta judge ordered T.I. to pay more child support to the mother of two of his children, Lashona Dixon.
Dixon took T.I. to court earlier this year claiming that the monthly payments of $3000 that she received from the rapper wasn't enough to support her and their two sons.
Dixon was seeking as much as $10,000 a month but Judge Bensonetta Tipton bumped the payment to $5000 on Wednesday, according to The Associated Press.
The judge also ordered T.I. to pay half of the children's extracurricular activities and all their medical expenses. He is no longer required to pay for the children's private school tuition.
Randy Kessler, Dixon's attorney, called the judge's decision "a complete victory" and said that his client is "very greatful".
T.I.’s lawyers could not be reached for comment
The rapper has three other children outside of his relationship with Dixon.

The "Biggest Boss" continued his war of words with 50 Cent this week by vowing to outsell him [50 Cent] and prove that he is the better lyricist.
"My freestyles as you could hear them, 'Kiss My Pinky Ring,' I do them in 20 minutes and put them out there. Those crumble empires. People listening to how potent the music is. That's all this really is for me.
I'm not really excited yet.
All this is a platform for me to show people how talented I am. How much better of a lyricist I am. So if 50 sold 10 million, my next album should sell 12." Ross tells MTV News in a recent interview.

Afeni Shakur, the mother of late rapper Tupac Shakur, released a statement yesterday(February 23) responding to a lawsuit filed against her and Amaru Entertainment by film production company Morgan Creek.
As reported earlier, Morgan Creek claimed that Afeni and Amaru Entertainment backed out of an agreement to sell Tupac's life rights to them for a film adaptation.
Afeni and Amaru Entertainment denied Morgan Creek's accusations in the following statement:
We at Amaru Entertainment would like to clarify some of the recent media reports concerning a lawsuit filed by Morgan Creek Productions. This lawsuit has no merit. We felt it was important to bring the story of Tupac Shakur, one of music’s most remarkable icons, to life onscreen and, in realizing this vision; we sought to find the best partner who would be true to Tupac’s vision and bring his unique story to life on the big screen.
In doing so, we have taken every step to ensure that our partner in this process is committed to the integrity of Tupac Shakur’s legacy and, more importantly, that they are the right people. To that end, we have been in discussions and negotiations with several major studios and production companies, including Morgan Creek Productions. However, at no time did we have an agreement with Morgan Creek.
Sadly, Morgan Creek decided to take advantage of this situation and attempt to frustrate our project by interfering with our business relationships. We will not be frightened by Morgan Creek’s tactics and we are absolutely confident that the movie will be produced and released. Tupac’s story is what Hollywood legends are made of - and we want to make sure that the movie tells Tupac’s story like it should be told and lives up to everyone’s expectations.
Tupac touched so many people in his brief life and we are honoured to be keeping his message alive. [We] want to do so with integrity - in the right way with the right people. That’s what Tupac would have wanted.

50 Cent is gearing up for the release of what he says may very well be his last studio album. The long awaited and often pushed back, "Before I Self Destruct," is slated to hit stores on March 24th and according to Fif, if it doesn't make sense for him to continue recording--he won't.
"It (next album) could very well be my last studio album if it doesn't make sense for me to continue and actually do it" 50 tells King Magazine.
Though he might stop recording, Fif isn't planning on completely exiting Hip Hop as he believes he will only "gain more power" as time goes on due to the age of certain Hip Hop power players.
"I believe that I will have a stronger position as we move forward. What I have on my side is age.
In the next five years, they'll (top rappers) be 45 and 44 years old and I'll just be close to where they are now."
And if you thought he was referring to Jay-Z, then you were right. "He's married, he's getting ready to be 40," Fif says of Jay.
"He's in a different place, he might not even want to run around, and even touring might be out of the question."

Roughly a week after Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent broke Nielsen SoundScan's record for opening week download sales, Flo Rida has broken the record yet again with his single, "Right Round." The Miami-based rapper has sold over 636,000 digital downloads of his latest single, beating the Aftermath trio's mark of 467,000.
Record-setting digital sales of his material is familiar territory for Flo Rida, after seeing his 2008 single, "Low" become the highest-selling digital single of all time, with sales upwards of 4 million copies.
"Right Round" will be included on Flo Rida's sophomore effort, R.O.O.T.S. Much like Fergie, whose digital sales record for "Fergalicious" was eclipsed with the meteoric rise of "Low," at least one more of Flo's singles will enjoy a healthy promotional push from MySpace, MTV and his label, Atlantic Records.
The trend of artists breaking each other's digital sales records will likely continue, as digital downloads continue to outpace physical sales. Reuters reports that over 1 billion songs were legally downloaded in 2008

Arkansas police revealed on February 20th that they seized nearly 500 pounds of marijuana from a tour bus this week and the two Georgia men in the vehicle implicated Fabolous.
According to KHBS, police claim that they initially stopped the bus for driving on the shoulder of a highway on Tuesday night (February 17) and when they searched the bus they found 496 pounds of marijuana in a duffle bag.
Police also revealed that they found $6,452 in cash on the men.
The two men, who were identified as 52-year-old Edward Thimas and 44-year-old Robert Morris, told the police that they were returning from the NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix and they had been escorting Fabolous who was not on the bus during their arrest.
The men claimed that Fabolous and another rapper who was not identified loaded the marijuana on the bus and told them to contact them when they got to Boston.
It is unclear whether Fabolous has been questioned. Police said they are keeping the two men in custody because the stories they gave during interrogation were conflicting.
