“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Parlux and their management team in the launch of these dynamic new brands,” Jay said in a statement. “This venture will take what is already a successful franchise at Parlux to a new level.”
With an economy in crisis, Chief Executive of Parlux, Neil J. Katz, is banking on the celebrity appeal of the artists to increase sales.
“[We] believe this proactive investment by Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West is an indication to the market place of the underlying value of Parlux,” he commented.
Jay-Z, Kanye, and Rihanna join a number of other celebs like Paris Hilton, Queen Latifah, and Marc Ecko who have signed fragrance licensing deals.
Parlux plans to put out the Kanye and Rihanna fragrances by summer 2010.
Flesh-N-Bones pleaded not guilty on to gun charges on Monday, April 6th, 2009.
The charges stem after the Cleveland native was arrested by authorities who found a firearm inside his vehicle on Thursday, April 2nd.
According to reports, Shephard Kopp, Howse's attorney, argued that the gun found in the vehicle didn't belong to his client.
“The gun was found in a closet inside a locked suitcase,” he said. “The gun belongs to Mr. Howse’s wife Isabel Flores, who is a Chicago Police Officer.”
Kopp said the firearm is registered and that his client told authorities that it was his wife’s the time of his arrests.
Howse’s bail was set at $135,000, he was ordered back to court on April 16.
Howse recently completed a 10 year prison sentence after he was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and of being an ex-convict in possession of a gun after he pulled a AK-47 from a baby's crib and pointed it at an acquaintance in December 2000.
It appears as if the "beef" between rappers 50 Cent and Rick Ross isn't quiet over yet.
Ross has now enlisted the help of two rappers who aren't very fond of the New York rapper for two separate diss tracks.
According to MTV news, Ross has recruited Lil Wayne for the diss track "Valley Of Death" which is set to appear on his forthcoming LP, Deeper Than Rap, in stores on April 21st.
"Me and Wayne, I got a lot of respect and a lot of love, not only for Lil Wayne, but for Cash Money Records," Ross tells MTV.
"Those were some of the few dudes that embraced me outside of the music long before the fame and fortune. I always felt it was genuine. Birdman and Slim been coming to Miami for years now.
We developed a relationship being in and out of the studios. Anytime I called Wayne for anything — whether it's an album cut or remix — he was just there for me."
'Valley of Death,' that concept was just, that's really what it is — every day I get up and live the life that I live. Do the things I do. Move how I move," Ross added.
"Walking in the valley of death, I feel my life is on the line every day. It's a 50/50 chance."
Ross also grabbed Fif's longtime arch-nemesis, Ja Rule, for the remix to Mafia Music--the track that sparked the feud between the two.
"I'm still a fan of Ja Rule," he said.
"Ja Rule, put out your next album. Drop a next single real big. Put me on that. Keep selling records. What's the problem?"
GURU Beverage Company announced they will be working on a new, organic energy drink with Kanye West via press release today.
The company, which touts itself for "being built on principles of wellness, health, performance, authenticity and living life to the fullest," states an ad campaign involving West will be unveiled within the next six weeks.
"I express myself through music, fashion, art and design and that's why I am excited to collaborate with GURU; because the brand values what I value, and I can put what inspires me into this new product," West stated in the press release.
In addition to the currently unnamed new product, GURU announced Kanye has become an equity partner in the company. Terms of the deal were not announced, but some in the business community compare the move to 50 Cent's deal with Glacéau for their Vitamin Water brand.

Fresh off the release of UGK's seventh and final studio album, Bun B is now planning on releasing the Pimp C's final solo album, "The Naked Soul of Sweet James Jones."
The UGK star, real name Chad Butler, who died in late 2007 from an accidental overdose of codeine combined with the medical condition sleep apnea, will be honored by his partner Bun B with the posthumous release of his first solo disc since 2006's Pimpalation.
Bun B says the Butler had been hard at work in the studio prior to his death - and has left plenty of material to fill a whole new album of his own, in addition to the UGK 4 Life release.
"We had enough vocals," Bun B told XXL.
"But it wasn't just about taking whatever vocals I had available; it was about constructing songs... It wasn't about just throwing all the Pimp C I had out there. I had to really try to make an album."
"The Naked Soul of Sweet James Jones" will serve as a sequel to Pimp C's 2005 "Sweet James Jones Stories."
Pimp C will also be making another posthumous appearance on Chamillionaire's forthcoming LP, Venom.
Pimp provided some vocals for the as-yet-untitled track as well as some production effort, making it his last production credit.

According to reports, the "Live Your Life" hitmaker will be re-releasing his critically acclaimed Grammy nominated album, Paper Trail.

“I’m still in the process of picking the songs,” T.I. said.
“But I’m also still recording. I’m able to record any time — through the best of times and through the worst of times, I’m still able to record. It may change the sort of song you do, but you never can tell. You never know until that moment gets there.”
The first single off the re-release will be produced by Rob Knox & Justin Timberlake who teamed up in the past for Dead And Gone.
The release date for the re-issue has yet to be announced.

After a little bit of a hiatus, musically, the "People's Champ" Paul Wall is finally gearing up for the release of his third album, Fast Life, which is due in May.
The forthcoming album features production from the likes of beatmakers like Travis Barker and Amadeus, while guests include Baby Bash, Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe, Too Short, and his Expensive Taste group.
In addition to getting "bizzy" with fun party records and tales of life in the fast lane, the Houston grill man brings a little in-depth material as well. Album highlights include "Look At Me," where Paul delves deep into his rocky rise to the top, and "Daddy Wasn't Home" where he details his absentee father's drug addiction and his family's hardships.
While some may be wondering what Paul has been doing since 2007's Get Money, Stay True, he's been at work, like always. In addition to a long trek on the road with Tech N9ne for their Fire & Ice Tour, the rapper has also been promoting his (and Travis Barker's) Expensive Taste clothing line, most recently at the 2009 fashion trade Magic in Las Vegas.
He's also recently relocated his Houston jewelry store to the upscale Galleria mall in Houston), while he continues his work with the USO, training with his major league baseball friends, and being a husband and father.
Right now, he's putting the finishing touches on the video for "Bizzy Body," one of the first tracks off Fast Life which he shot recently in Houston with Trill Entertainment's Webbie.
Fast Life is due in stores May 12.

According to Santa Clara’s The Signal, Flesh, real name Stantley Howse, had his vehicle searched during the stop, where a firearm and marijuana were reportedly found inside his car.
Charged with gun possession, this is not the first time Flesh has run into legal trouble. In 2000, he was sentenced to twelve years in prison after assaulting a person with an AK-47 assault rifle. For that case, Flesh ended up serving nearly eight years, when he was released in July of 2008.
Because of his prior history, Flesh is being held without bail at the local county jail, where he will appear in Santa Clara Superior Court on Monday, April 6th to answer the gun charge.
On Monday morning, reps from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony confirmed the story to be true through Sony Red Records, one of the group's labels. The statement said, "At this time, all the facts have not been revealed publicly, however I can assure you 100% that Mr. Howse has not walked backwards! We live in a great American country where one is innocent until proven guilty."
Flesh-N-Bone will go to his hearing later today.
