Willie D Arrested For iPhone Scam

Willie D has been a celebrated businessman, in addition to his 20-plus year music career. From brokering air travel, to foreign real estate, the Houston, Texas-based rapper has extended his brand beyond writing hits for The Geto Boys and numerous acclaimed solo albums, many released on Rap-A-Lot Records in the early '90s.

Today, The Houston Press reported that the political gangsta rapper was arrested for fraud charges, through his association with Texas One Wireless.

The reports state that Willie set up an eBay account, and beginning September 2008, established feedback, selling Apple's iPhone internationally. Once a reputation was built, the rapper reportedly asked buyers to pay him for the coveted phones through wire transfers, not authorized through the Bay Area auction powerhouse.

Deposits were reportedly made, but items were not delivered.

The rapper told victimized buyers that he filed reports of lost product through the United States Postal Service, but then would cease communication.

These federal charges, if convicted, could cause the rapper to face 20 years and/or a maximum fine of $250,000.

Willie D is supposed to appear in court today.

In the last year, Willie D had been primarily focused on developing Alabama white-rapper trio, Huntzville, whom he was writing for and producing. The group received some recognition for their song about school violence, "Backpack Fulla Guns"

DMX Released From Jail, Has Plan To Become A Preacher

DMX has finally completed his stint at an Arizona prison after serving over 90 days behind bars.

The rapper was released from "Tent City," aka the Maricopa County Jail, late Wednesday afternoon (May 13).

Now, the Yonkers MC has vowed to to turn his life around - and is using his faith and the small screen to try and help those in a similar position.

"I'm gonna start a TV show called Pain and Perseverance, it's about how I can reach people that the average person can't reach because I'm grounded," X says.

"I'm going to give my first sermon in the church. That's going to be incredible for me and hopefully the congregation of that church."

It's not the first time DMX has turned to religion to fix his problems - in 2003, he turned his back on rap and pursued a preaching career.

He briefly semi-retired to study the Bible.

Before being incarcerated, X was working on a double LP, Walk with Me Now and You'll Fly with Me Later.

Originally due out on October 14, 2008, it is now expected to be released in the Summer of 2009 through BODOG Music.

JoJo Simmons Gets Charges Reduced

Felony drug charges against the son of Rev. Run have been reduced to misdemeanors after his arrest in New York City last week.

As previously reported, JoJo Simmons was busted for buying marijuana on Friday (May 8th, 2009) evening.

According to the New York Post, Simmons bolted after cops allegedly saw him rolling a joint in Washington Heights at 7.30 p.m.

Police say the teen, who was parked on Wadsworth Ave when officers approached him, slammed his BMW in reverse and smashed into vehicles parked behind him.

He then took off on foot. When officers caught up to the 19 year old, he allegedly started throwing punches.

Jojo was arrested and charged with drug possession, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

A New York City judge dropped the felonies in a Manhattan court on Saturday, May 9th, 2009 and the teenager now faces two counts of drug possession and one of resisting arrest.

The Run's House star was released on his own recognisance and is due to face the reduced charges at a later date.

It Was All Good Just A Week Ago:Alfamega Arrested, Jailed On Felony Gun Charges

Alfamega has been pretty quiet since T.I. dismissed him from his Grand Hustle label, after The Smoking Gun (TSG) dropped a bombshell last week revealing that he served as a government witness before shooting to rap stardom.

There's a reason why the rapper's been so quiet about the situation. It's because he's in jail, and has been sitting in jail even before T.I. kicked him out of Grand Hustle.

According to TSG, Alfamega (real name: Cedric Zellars) was arrested on April 29 on felony gun and obstruction charges, following a wild confrontation with cops.

An Atlanta police report says that authorities found a stolen .40 caliber pistol in the rapper's SUV during a search of the vehicle following a traffic stop -- the pistol was actually loaded and had a round in the chamber.

Once the gun was discovered, police say Alfamega became "combative and non-compliant", and tried to flee. That's when officers used pepper spray to subdue him to no avail. He took off on foot, and police chased him to a nearby parking lot where he was struck by police batons. However, the strikes did not stop the rapper.

He ran through the parking lot, climbed over a garage wall, and jumped "25-30 feet to the ground." The fall resulted in Alfamega breaking his ankle, allowing police to finally catch up to him.

The rapper was booked into a Fulton County jail, and charged with two counts of felony obstruction and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Last week, the TSG leaked documents showing that Alfamega once served as a DEA informant and government witness during the mid-90s, despite having a reputation as hardened criminal with multiple years in prison under his belt. He even bragged about how "real" he was during interviews.

While he did serve a lengthy stint behind bars, thanks to a federal gun case, Alfamega received an 18-month reduction for help in the conviction of a drug trafficker named Ali Baaqar, who he testified against at trial.

Since the revelation, T.I. has come forward, stating that he was "surprised" by the news. He essentially dropped Alfamega from his Grand Hustle imprint, crediting the rapper's "dishonest and misleading behavior" as the cause.

Since that news, 'Mega has not publicly commented about the situation.

Alfamega remained behind bars until Saturday when he made bail. If his case is picked up by federal prosecutors, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

Rick Ross Faking Again.

The self proclaimed "Boss" has now been called out by Louis Vuitton for sporting counterfeit shades on a recent cover of XXL Magazine.

The XXL Editors received this letter from Louis Vuitton concerning the May 2009 cover of Rick Ross.

Dear Editor:

We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points.

The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct the confusion.

Sincerely,

Michael D. Pantalony, Esq.
