Today Nielsen Soundscan released their lists of the best-selling artists, albums and songs of the 2000s and Em topped the list as best selling musician.
The Detroit emcee sold more than 32.2 million albums in the past decade beating out the Beatles to take the title of top selling artist. Although the Beatles did end up with the top selling album as they sold just about 11.5 million copies of their 2000's greatest-hits compilation.
Even though Eminem didn’t have the highest selling total of a single album, he was the only artist with two albums on the list. Em’s The Marshall Mathers LP and Eminem Show hit the list at #4 and #5, selling 10.2 million and 9.8 million copies.
The only areas that Eminem or the Beatles didn't come out on top this decade were singles and radio play. Nielsen Soundscan started tracking digital sales in July 2003 and Flo-Rida's Low was the decade's highest selling digital song. The single was downloaded 5.2 million times.
Nielsen formed the lists using information collected from January 1, 2000 through November 1, 2009.

Drake says he is now aiming to release his official debut LP, Thank Me Later, in March. Even with the slight delay, the 23-year-old Canadian is pleased with how it is shaping up.
"I'm making progress on it," Drake said with a smile Wednesday night at the Grammy nominations concert in Los Angeles, where he'd just learned — to his surprise — that he's up for two awards. "I'm hoping for March now. It's just pulling everybody together: I had a wish list for my managers of everybody I wanted involved that stem beyond hip-hop. I'm trying to pull it all together."
One of the top names on his list is a legendary vocalist who recently announced she'll be releasing her first new album in almost a decade.
"I'm really trying to work with Sade," he revealed. "Lil Wayne will be on it. Young Jeezy, Jay-Z, Kanye will be doing work on it. It's in the family."
There is one other guest that he elected to be coy about. "It's this other one I'm excited about that's kinda left [field]," he demurred. "It's gonna be a great project — well-rounded."
Drake also took a moment to reflect on just how much those Grammy nominations — both of which are for "Best I Ever Had," a song from his mixtape/ unofficial debut LP So Far Gone mixta pe/album — mean to him.
"Whether I take them home or not, this is an amazing moment for me," he said. "Everybody knows the Grammys are the awards to receive as a musician. It symbolizes not popularity, but great music. Also, Grammys are what kept me up at night while I was in high school. Grammys are why I work so hard. This is the goal: to win a Grammy. If it happens, it'll be [marked off of my] life checklist."
Raekwon has added another collaboration project on his 'to do list'.
Raekwon recently revealed to AllHipHop that he plans to work on an album with the legendary Kool G Rap.
"We talking about doing a project together, Kool G Rap and The Chef," Rae divulged. "You know what kind of shit that's gonna be? Yall will be hearing this fucking album."
As reported earlier, Raekwon is also working on a collabo album with Ghostface and Method Man titled The Wu Massacre.
The Wu Massacre was initially slated for release in December but will be hitting stores in 2010.

Nas was busted on a DUI rap in early September and later released, according to information that recently surfaced online.
Nas and his brother, "Jungle," were both arrested on September 10 after a routine safety check in Georgia when police smelled marijuana inside the rapper's Cadillac Escalade truck.
According to the police report obtained by MTV News, Nas was pulled over near the I-75 exit ramp in Stockbridge, Georgia, at aproximately 2:30 p.m. Police were conducting license checks when officers approached Nas' vehicle. The odor of marijuana coming from Nas' car led police to ask the rapper to exit his car.
Uniformed officers then asked Nas to participate in four separate sobriety tests. The report characterized Nas as having "droopy" eyes and being unable to fully complete several tasks, including standing on one leg.
The arresting officer described Nas at the time as having "redding of the conjunctiva in both eyes, rebound dilation in both eyes, a green tongue with raised taste buds, and his pulse was raised to 116 beats per minute."
The rapper was taken to the nearby Henry County police station, where he was charged with one count of driving under the influence and released. Information in the report s tates that Nas admitted to smoking marijuana two hours prior to being pulled over. His brother, whose real name is Jabari Jones, was also arrested and police seized one plastic bag of marijuana belonging to him.
Nas is scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges at a future date.
