Cam’ron’s back with a vengeance. The Diplomats CEO has joined forces with Harlem rapper Vado to form The U.N. Along with the formation of the group comes word of a collaborative album on the horizon.
The duo is set to drop their debut effort, Gunz N’ Butta via E1. Appearing on every track, this project will be Killa Cam’s second official release since returning to rap last year with his comeback album, Crime Pays.
During his hiatus, Cam was consistently recording and Gunz N’ Butta draws from a well of over 150 songs that Cam has been compiling over the last three years, including The U.N.’s first single, “Clap.”
The album is expected to drop March 23, and Cam is plotting a return foray into acting with Killa Season 2, the sequel to his 2006 independent film, set for release later this year.
Snoop Dogg is continuing to inflict Malice with the help of some friends. On March 23, the doggfather will release the follow-up to December’s Malice N Wonderland entitled More Malice: Deluxe Album and Movie.
The new album will feature five songs from his latest release, plus five brand-new tracks and two remixes. Included with More Malice will be a mini-movie starring Snoop with cameos from Jamie Foxx, Xzibit, Nipsey Hussle, and more.
Jay-Z appears on the project’s first single, “I Wanna Rock (The Kings G-Mix),” while Bun B jumps on the remix to “Pronto” and Kid Cudi lights one up with the Doggfather on “That Tree.”
In addition to the soundtrack, the 40-minute, action-packed movie included with the CD tells the story of superhero Malice, played by Snoop, in his hometown of crime-plagued Wonderland. The safety of the city is up to Malice who fights crime and strives to bring peace back to his neighborhood.
“The response to Malice N Wonderland has been so incredible that I had to drop another banger for the fans,” stated Snoop. “I also wanted everyone to get something special, so we are adding a mini-movie to the mix—with me in the starring role. The homie Jamie Foxx came through to be a part of it as well—between the action and the storyline, peopl e are in for a big surprise.”

A Manhattan judge Wednesday (January 20) tossed out a statement by rapper Ja Rule saying he had "a little bit of weed in my pocket" the night he was busted on gun charges.
But the marijuana and gun that were found in his car when he and two friends were pulled over after leaving a Lil Wayne & Friends concert at the Beacon Theater in July 2007 will remain as evidence in the case.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, has pleaded not guilty in the case.
He appeared in court Wednesday with his co-defendent and road manager, Dennis Cherry, but did not speak.
Cops said they found a loaded .40-caliber Taurus handgun inside the rapper's luxury Mercedes-Benz Maybach.
A police source said the gun's serial numbers had been ground off. Ja Rule, Cherry and driver Mohamed Gamal were charged with criminal possession of a firearm. Gamal has since died.
Defense attorney Stacey Richman said the rapper plans to try to get DNA samples taken from the gun tossed because it's "low-copy DNA."
The same night as Ja Rule's arrest, Lil Wayne, was pulled over by cops for a traffic violation.
Cops smelled marijuana and boarded the bus, according to police sources, where they found Derrick Lawrence of Brooklyn trying to flush half a pound of pot down the toilet.
They also recovered an illegal, loaded .40-caliber Taurus handgun - the same type of weapon found in Ja Rule's ride - in plain sight in a back bedroom.

Ruff Ryders CEO Waah Dean has confirmed that a Ruff Ryders album entitled "Ruff Ryders Evolution: Generation I" is in the works and pretty much completed. Swizz Beatz, Eve, The LOX, DMX, Drag-On along with new comers to the Ruff Ryders camp are all set to make appearances on the compilation.
"The compilation is pretty much finished and we’re looking to knock it out and have it up and running at the end of 2nd, beginning of 3rd quarter. We got a couple of nice joints. It’s gonna be a mixture of the old and new… we got this joint called “Family.” We got a remix on it too and we want to launch the compilation with that. It’s expressing a lot of how families should move and how they should roll.
We’re gonna feature our established artists, new artists and we’re gonna remix it and just really unify the family thing, bring back the foundation. We have collaborations songs that we did with The Lox and Cassidy and we get a song from each artist and let them express themselves. I’s gonna be a decent album, we’re gonna do that one independent and we may even take it upstairs (to major label) to do that on a whole other level. This album is really going to be about coming together."
The Ruff Ryders reunion album doesnt have a set release date at this time, but is said to release 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year.
"Stand down, The King is home." May be a line from Nasir jones, but its sure to be heard in Ti's new music. Less than a month after entering a halfway house, T.I. is back at work recording a new album.
Jim Jonsin, who helped take Tip to No. 1 with “Whatever You Like,” will once again be involved with the project. Jonsin recently spoke with the rapper upon his release to an Atlanta correctional facility after serving seven months behind bars on weapons charges.
According to the producer, the King of the South hasn’t let lockdown dampen his spirits. “It doesn’t seem like he missed a beat,” he tells Rap-Up. “He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in.”
T.I. hit the ground running and is already in the studio crafting the follow-up to 2008’s multi-platinum Paper Trail. “He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via email,” Jonsin reveals. “He can work during the week and not on the weekend, I believe. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.”
The project’s direction is still up in the air. “That’s really going to be determined by him. We’re supposed to get together or talk more about it soon,” Jonsin shares. “But his last album was great and his sound already does really well, so I wouldn’t see him changing too much.”
Waka Flocka Flame was shot Tuesday (January 19) in his hometown, according to Fulton County Police.
Flocka (real name: Juaquin Malphurs) suffered a gunshot wound to the arm as he was stopped at a carwash on National Highway. He was rushed to nearby Grady Hospital. A spokesperson for his record company said Flame will be fine.
Police said the matter is under investigation and wouldn't say whether there was a suspect. Sergeant Scott McBride, a spokesperson for the Fulton County Police Department, told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that "a scuffle broke out, then shots were fired." According to several reports, an unknown assailant tried to take the rapper's jewelry.
Flocka, part of Gucci Mane's So Icey camp, has made a name for himself recently with the song "O Let's Do It." An unofficial remix of the record has hit the Net featuring Lil Wayne, Trae Tha Truth and Rick Ross. Ludacris also jumped on the record with his own version for an upcoming mixtape. Waka appears on Gucci Mane's The State vs. Radric Davis on the track "Bingo."
Waka was in the midst of putting together a new mixtape with D J Holiday before Tuesday's shooting.

On Friday (January 15) Snoop Dogg announced that he has signed Cypress Hill to the newly re-launched Priority Records.
“My role as Creative Chairman of Priority Records has put me in the driver’s seat to help revive the most important West Coast hip-hop label,” Snoop said in a press release. “As such, I’m excited to announce my first signing as Cypress Hill. Cypress Hill is undeniably one of the most important hip-hop groups in music history, not only are they incredibly talented and the first Latino hip-hop group to go platinum, they are also from the West Coast- so this signing is the perfect marriage.”
Snoop also expressed his desire to revive Priority Records’ classic catalog as well as sign new Left Coast artists to the iconic label. He’s already got the ball rolling in doing so with the USDA Uncut Snoop Dogg Approved album which he says will include, “ timeless records that… really need to be brought back to life again- Master P, Ice Cube, N.W.A.” He also wants to release The West Coast Blueprint a compilation album that he says will show what Priority is all about.
In the mean time, Cypress’ Rise Up, the groups’ first major release in six years, is scheduled for release on April 6.

Eve is making changes for the new year. The femcee has left her longtime label and promises a new album in 2010.
The rapper-turned-actress revealed on Twitter Friday (Jan. 15) that she has parted ways with Interscope Geffen A&M Records where she released her first three albums. “Let me tell u what happened with music so ya’ll don’t think I quit,” she told her followers. “Left Interscope, free agent now. Went back in re-doing music. Trust me.”
As for her oft-delayed fourth studio album, the first since 2002’s Eve-Olution, she says it’s coming this year. “Not letting this year pass wit out an ALBUM! Can’t take the non-sense MUSIK.”
A 2007 project Here I Am was scrapped, although it produced the Swizz Beatz-helmed “Tambourine” and “Give It to You” featuring Sean Paul.
While on hiatus, Eve shared that she was going in a new direction with her sound, as evidenced by the leaked Salaam Remi production “Me N My (Up in the Club).” “I’m actually experimenting with this movement called dubstep in the U.K., this underground sound,” she told Jimmy Fallon in October.
According to Eve, her new album is titled Lip Lock and will feature “Tambourine” and “Give It to You” as bonus tracks.
