Ice Cube Addressing The Rumors That He Dissed Dr. Dre

Ice Cube went to his blog,, to address the rumors that his new song “Drink The Kool-Aid” was a diss towards N.W.A. co-founder Dr. Dre.

Read the entire entry after the jump

I met Dr. Dre in the studio last night. When I got there Snoop was in the booth laying the finishing touches on another classic from the dynamic duo. He played me some tracks set for the up and coming Detox record and we talked about me jumping on board the project. Of course I talked about him doing shit on my record and he said he’d bless the album. The Game came through ready to spit but Dre just wanted every to vibe. It felt like old times when me and Dre would work on shit in Eazy’s cold ass garage.

He asked me did I diss him during the Paid Dues Show last Saturday. I did one of my new songs called “Drink The Kool-Aid” which got everybody thinking I’m dissing the whole industry…lol “You internet roaches…” I told Dre that I’d never diss the man that got me started. Here are the lyric to Drink The Kool-Aid for everybody who understand style and grace in hip-hop…check the lyrics

This ain’t Sanatra
This ain’t the Carter
This is the chaperone nigga who brought’cha
I am the author…this is Holy water
From the Holy Father the Rock of Gibraltar
Step up to the alter step up to the slaughter
Get circumsized son and turned into a daughter
Niggas know they oughta drink the fuckin’ kool-aid
Industy laid out authorities are too late
MC’s passed the due date niggas they do hate
You are Bobby Boucher I’m the Mane like Gucci
I rock the Louie but not like Kanye
Nigga see me kinda like Harry Belafonte
Step into the room they be like ah Day-O!
Yeah cause they know a nigga ain’t play-doe
Shots all fatal is this Laredo
Boarder town knock’em down just like legos
Drink the Kool-Aid!
verse 2
I ain’t the Doctor
This ain’t the patient
This ain’t that nigga always on vacation
This ain’t no white boy’s rehabilitation
This is crazier then a boat full of Haitians
This is inflation mixed with degradation
This ain’t no dead rappers reincarnation
I heard it was a New West Coast I ain’t worried
I murder more stars then Conrad Murray
I got more bars then the penitentary
I wrote this shit without a rhyme dictionary
Young bucks try to step up to the harim
Looking for some pussy I’m a old buck I dare’em
Drink the Kool-Aid

No disses. Just style and grace. On another note, I rocked the fuck outta Paid Dues. I had my son Doughboy get down wit me while WC and Crazy Toones rocked France. I think people enjoyed the show. 20 years of West Coast hip-hop presented in 60mins. It was amazing. I can’t wait to put the new show together with all my new songs. I also dropped the single “I REP THAT WEST” on’em. They loved the new shit. The single and the video will premiere and be avaliable right here on May26th.

My nigga Sir Jinx laced my wit a dope ass track. I’mma do it wit Jayo Felony and WC. This record is coming together like sweaty ass cheeks…
No Q & A this time ya’ll. I’m in a hurry. I’ll answer all questions next time.

Scarface recently spoke to MTV about the release of Dopeman Music. He went on to say,

I’m music. I can play that shit long enough for a real musician to catch it and feel me, where I’m going, and we make magic like that.”

WTF: Virginia Governor Declares “Confederate History Month”

Virginia’s Republican Governor, Bob McDonnell has declared that April is Confederate history month, celebrating the many Southern whites who fought to preserve slavery and leave the union.

After the jump read his statement regarding the declaration

This defining chapter in Virginia’s history should not be forgotten, but instead should be studied, understood and remembered by all Virginians, both in the context of the time in which it took place, but also in the context of the time in which we live, and this study and remembrance takes on particular importance as the Commonwealth prepares to welcome the nation and the world to visit Virginia for the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the Civil War, a four-year period in which the exploration of our history can benefit all.

UPDATE: In my reseach i found that several other states already celebrate "Confederate History Month"

Texas (since 1999)
Florida (since 2007)
Georgia (since 2009)

Since I live in Va. I figured I had to comment on this. I know that Va. was at one point the capital of the confederacy, but to have such an hone is like celebrating the birthday of Adolph hitler. This is such an abomination, there should be a national uproar, there should be rioting in the streets, there should be protest, but yet nothing. Where is Jesse, Al, and the rest of the lot? They are all off arguing over violating our first amendment right over sagging pants. Its a sad thing that this story hasn't even gotten any coverage in the mainstream media. I can tell you one thing, this definitely shows me that my time in Va is coming to an end.

Drake’s “Thank Me Later” Pushed Back

After releasing what can arguably call the greatest mixtape in the last five years Drake told Mtv he's gonna have to make the public wait a little while longer to hear his full length debut.

Telling Mtv that the release date has been moved to June 15th, Drake also revealed that he’ll be performing a new song from his album on tour called “Fireworks.”

“We took a trip to Jamaica, where I did a lot of work for my album,” he told us on the “Over” video set last month. “There was this calm before the storm, and ‘Over’ represented the storm to me. It’s the moment. I wanted to emerge at first from this album and just let people know ‘This is how I’m coming out in the public eye. I’m ready for anything.’ Then when you get the album, it’s like, ‘Oh, he’s still human. He’s still thinking the same way.’ I wanted people to understand I could have lost it. ‘Over’ could have been my entire album. Just ’cause that’s what this industry and game will do to you if you lose yourself.”

Drake is currently on his Away From Home Tour with Francis and the Lights and K-os.

After being sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for money laundering famed New York jewelry man Jacob Arabov was reportedly released last month.

According to the New York Post, Jacob The Jeweler has been sent to a halfway house on March 25th to serve out the remainder of his sentence.

Jacob was busted in 2006 by the DEA for allegedly laundering more than $270 million in drug profits for the infamous Black Mafia Family, known throughout the hip-hop industry as BMF, and sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison.

If all goes well with his halfway house stay, the jeweler should be free by September.

Under the terms of his release, Arabov will be allowed to run his Jacob & Co. business with wife Angela, but will have to return to the "residential re-entry facility" each night.

Ice Cube Debuts New Single At Paid Dues Festival

Ice Cube has been causing alot of controversy lately, ever since he announced a new album titled "I Am The West." Over the weekend Cube decided he would debut his new single "I Rep The West", and address the controversy regarding his comments over Los Angeles newcomers.

As previously reported, on his website (, Cube was asked why doesn't he work with new artist. He replied by saying it's not his responsibility and doesn't plan to any time soon. Then he went on to give the title of his new album "I Am The West." He has struck a cord with some artists, especially the "new" acts he may, or may not, be referring to.

Whether or not Cube is calling out anyone directly isn't clear. But, at Paid Dues, he used the stage to further address the situation.

"It's been a gang of motherf***as talking sh** about your boy Ice Cube. I love it though ..." Cube told the crowd. "I got a message to all the new MCs in the house right now. I got love for all the MCs in the house right now, but if you diss the old west I got a problem with you if you diss the old west. You can't diss Dr. Dre. You can't diss Eazy-E. You can't diss Ice-T. You can't diss King Tee. No, you cannot diss Ice Cube," he added. "No, I ain't going for it. And any of you young motherf***ers that do f***in' diss, I got one thing to say before you do it. You better check yourself before you wreck yourself."

I Am The West is scheduled to drop July 13. For more info and to keep updated on Cube, visit
