The director of Training Day, Antoine Fuqua has confirmed that his is the long awaited biopic of the life of Hip Hop icon Tupac. Fuqua discussed the project and says it will start filming in this fall around the anniversary of the fallen icon Death
"It looks like we're doing Tupac Shakur's movie next in September, that's what I've been starting up and working on now," he said. "I've been working on that for a while with Morgan Creek and Jim Robinson. I just got the greenlight from him and we're going in September. I've just started to prep that."
Fuqua also says he plans to discover a unknown actor to play the role with Tupac.
"That's the goal, I want to discover someone new," he explained. "I want to discover a lot of new people if I can. Obviously I'm going to have to put some people in it that you know, just because actors have different skills. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world."
Currently there is no release date for the film.

Since leaking photos of himself with a dramatic amount of weight lost, 50 Cent has had the internet buzzing with rumors & enuendo. He sat down with Rap-up.com to explain his reasons.
He lost all the weight for his role in the upcoming film "Things Fall Apart," where he plays a football player diagnosed with cancer.
"Yeah, they're absolutely real," 50 said. "I shot the first half of the film for eight days and then I left for my international tour, and I spent that time training to lose weight. I had a week and a half after coming back to really intensely train to get down to 160 for the last half of the film project, Things Fall Apart.
"It was a lot for me to actually get there. After the second week, it was crazy. They say it takes 30 days to make a habit, but man… I was on the Internet and I was looking at Christian Bale, while The Machinist was out, he almost killed himself. I was feeling like maybe I’m overdoing it and I'm dropping 54 pounds, but I was in such a good physical state prior to me deciding to go down on the weight."
Despite losing 54 pounds, 50 says he's already back up to 200 lbs, and is about to start weight training to regain his physiqe.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll never go out looking crazy like I just smoked something [laughs]. I'm trying to get myself back together immediately," 50 tells the mag.

According to TMZ, the former Mr. and Mrs jones divorce papers were filed last Friday (May 21) in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
As previously reported, Nas was forced to pay more than $47,000 in back child support and more than $40,000 in back spousal support in a settlement reached this past April. He is also being asked to make $10,000 payments per month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis.
The artist formerly known as Escobar is also expected to pay more than $155,000 for 90 percent of Kelis’s legal fees and more than $48,000 to cover her accounting expenses.

In a press release issued to on Monday (May 24), Ross' camp accused rapper Rick Ross, Def Jam and Universal of profiting "off of his name unlawfully while he was in jail, without his consent."
"It's no secret that the boss at FreewayEnterprise.com is unhappy with how his name has been exploited and misused since he went to prison in 1995, and in 2006, the above-named parties signed [William L. Roberts II] (Rick Ross' government name) to a big record deal and then spent, and made, millions off Ross' name," Freeway Ricky's camp says in a press release.
Freeway Ricky claims that he had previously "protested the exploitation and misuse of his name from prison" in 2006, by having a lawyer send letters to Def Jam to cease use, but was ignored. Now that's he out of prison, he plans to stand up for his rights, by fighting for the "control of his name in commerce by any means necessary."
It's unclear, however, if Ross plans to file a lawsuit against the rapper and his record labels, or if his comments are strictly for plans to run a campaign protesting the use of the name.
In the meantime, Freeway Rick Ross is planning a movie about his life with writer/producer Nick Cassavettes, which is slated to drop next year. He is also seeking a deal to release a book about his life as well.
Freeway Ricky Ross was released from prison in May 2009, after serving 20 years for operating a $2 million per day multi-state drug empire. Although he was originally sentenced to life in prison after he was busted trying to purcahse over 100 kilos of cocaine from undercover agents, his sentence was reduced through appeals, after a series of explosive articles by the late Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Gary Webb uncovered C.I.A.'s role in importing cocaine into black communities to fund Sandinistas in El Salvador, as part of the Iran-Contra scandal.
Rapper Rick Ross emerged on the scene in 2006 with his hit single, "Hustlin'," where he bragged about tales of slinging massive amounts of cocaine through Miami. When he broke onto the scene, controversy surfaced over his rap moniker, which many believed he stole from Freeway Ricky Ross.
