T.I. was sentenced to 11 months in prison during a probation hearing in Atlanta on today (October 15), after a judge found him in violation of the terms of his supervised release.
During the courtroom appearance, Tip was chastised by prosecutors who wanted him to receive two years in jail, T.I., however, pleaded with the judge to lessen his punishment and instead help him with his drug dependency.
"I screwed up bigtime, and I'm sorry. I'm truly and sincerely sorry. I don't want and I don't need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life." Tip said
The judge however, denied his plea to enter a drug rehab program, and instead gave him half the sentence that prosecutors recommended.
According to TMZ, T.I. has two weeks to turn himself in for this current sentence.

Jay-Z is set to release his very own "best of" album. The album is titled The Hits Collection - Vol. 1, and will include some of the his greatest hits and five previously unreleased songs.
The compilation will be sold in both CD and vinyl formats, along with deluxe and collector's edition box sets.
The deluxe edition boasts two CDs, featuring five new, unreleased tracks, and a 32-page mini book embossed with the Roc diamond, while the collector's edition box set includes a 100-page coffee table book replete with never-before-seen photos of Jay-Z taken throughout his storied career.
The Hits Collection - Vol. 1 is slated to drop November 22nd, the same date other big releases are scheduled for -- including Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday, and Lloyd Banks' The Hunger For More 2

The first movie to be filmed out of the new deal is Set Up where Paul Walker of Fast and Furious fame will co-star along-side 50.
The movie Set Up is slated to be an action flick that revolves around a group of friends that are involved in a diamond heist that takes a deadly turn.
The movie will start shooting in November.

Lupe Fiasco fans' planned to protest Atlantic Records, calling for the release of his long-delayed album Lasers, seems to have worked ... because its finally got a release date.
According to his website, the project is set to drop on March 8, 2011, with the single set to premiere on October 26th.
The news follows months of protest from Lupe fans, who took it upon themselves to launch an online petition in July, calling for Atlantic to release finally Lasers.
The petition was followed by a planned protest outside the label's New York offices on October 15th, aka Fiasco Friday, with Lupe revealing that he would join the rally.
Now with this positive news about the album's release, it seems the fans have gotten thier wish and Lupe's album will see the light of day.
